Thought from St. Francis de Sales

After the soul of the Blessed Virgin had left its most

pure body, her body was laid in the tomb and re-

stored to the earth. The same thing happened to the

body of her Son. It was reasonable and just that the

Mother should not enjoy more privileges than the

Son, but as Our Lord rose after three days, so she

was restored to life, but in a different manner. The

Savior rose by His own power, the Virgin Mary rose

by the power of her Son, Who commanded her soul

to be reunited with her body. It was right that her

most holy body should not be subject to corruption.

From that body Our Lord Jesus Christ has taken His bodily existence,

remaining in her most chaste womb for the space of nine months.

Classes for Converts

begin in September…

Details will be

announced soon!

My Dear Faithful,

It is great to be with you again after such a long Spanish

immersion experience this summer! I am very grateful to all

those good priests who filled in for me these past eight weeks,

especially Fr. James Garcia for being with you the last month.

I was able to learn quite a lot of Spanish in a short time, to

make a few pilgrimages to holy places and pray at the feet of

Saints. Most importantly, I was able to pray before the tilma of

Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City and offer Her a flower

bouquet for all the blessings that we’ve received, beseeching Her

continued intercession for us in the trying times for the Church

and the world. She asked St. Juan Diego: “Am I not here Who am

your Mother?” What consoling words these are, that no matter

what we face, we are protected beneath Her mantle and Her

tilma!

Today as we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Our

Lady body and soul in Heaven, may we regain our focus that

the only thing in this world that is truly important is that we

follow Our Heavenly Mother in life and in death.

No one is more disappointed than I to have to cancel the

social festivities in honor of Our Blessed Mother’s Assumption

today. I hope very soon to be able to plan another gathering

when I can share with you a presentation on my experience in

Mexico with photos and stories, y algunos chistes!

¡Que Dios ustedes bendiga!
