Low to Mid Engine RPM: During low to mid engine rpmranges, the
exhaust gas volume is sparse. The movable vanesof the VGT close to
create a narrow passageway causing theexhaust gas to accelerate and
spin the turbine blades faster. Ina non-VGT type turbocharger, the
low volume of exhaust gases
moving in a wide passageway will result to slow air
velocitymaking the turbine spin resulting to turbo log.
High Engine RPM: During high engine RPM, theexhaust gas volume
is dense. The movable vanes of theVGT open up to create a wider
passageway to cut downexhaust backpressure resulting to higher
turbine speed
and boost level.
