UNMATCHED EXPERIENCE – Our Design Team’s boat building knowledge spans numerousdecades. Our engineers live and breathe boating with a passion.

FIVE STEP DESIGN PROCESS – We employ a unique five step process that starts withbenchmarking our own product. After creating a list of enhancements, we engage in creating a 3-Dconceptual rendering of a model. Once completed, we can begin to process amenities - laying outmechanical, electrical and structural plans. Our conceptual drawings take advantage of time/space, whichenables our design team to hone in on an exact plan of success at a very early stage.

REVOLUTIONARY COMPUTER PROGRAMS – Armed with the most sophisticated designsoftware technology, we have multiple seats of Unigraphics and AutoCAD. Crucial items such as Center ofGravity can be accurately measured and determined well ahead of the production process.

FULL SCALE MODELS – After we completely design and test the boat and its components on thecomputer, we then build a large, full scale model. Our engineers spend painstaking time creating ourpre-prototype, which is used to further determine functionality of the model.

PROTOTYPES – Once our rigorous pre-prototype analysis is complete, we move on to theprototype. While creating it, we’re also developing structural instructions on how to build the boat forour manufacturing team. It’s not uncommon for us to build three to four prototypes, where as mostcompanies only build one…if any.

RESEARCH & DESIGN FACILITY – We maintain cutting edge R & D facilities, including a locationon Florida’s east coast, which allows our highly skilled engineers (whose combined marine experiencetotals more than a century) to rigorously ocean test our models in the varying Atlantic swells.

DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURABILITY – We streamline our processes to offer consistentquality which enables us to pass bottom line savings on to you.

COMPLETE COMPLIANCE – All Monterey models meet/exceed Coast Guard regulations. AllMonterey model designs are also ISO compliant, ABYC compliant and NMMA Certified. All Montereymodels built for export are CE approved.

PROVEN INNOVATION – Engineering innovation is what separates us from our competition. Takefor instance our Air Assist Chine, which provides additional lift while reducing drag by drawing air under thehull. Reducing hydrodynamic drag increases fuel efficiency, and allows the boat to stay on plane at optimalspeeds of 18-22 mph. Our Air Assist Chine also provides tighter cornering and more precise handling.

UNPARALLELED EXPERIENCE – Our production employees are the most highly experiencedboat builders. Their attention to detail and sense of pride enables our company to confidently standbehind each and every boat we produce.

DEDICATED FACILITIES – Two separate full-sized manufacturing facilities allows us to properlydedicate time and resources to small and large boats individually.

PRODUCTION PROTOCOL – Our work-intensive process of building your Monterey includesoverlaying a 4 oz. vinylester skin coat on the hull (some companies only use 1.5 oz which reduces theoverall strength of the hull); spraying 90 mils of SprayCore 2000, the super-tough polyester core material;laying the bulk laminate, or the structure of the boat; installing the stringers and flooring; and finally addingfoam, which not only offers floatation but also sound dampening characteristics to our models.

ROLLOVER DECK DOLLIES – Some manufacturers extract their hulls and decks out of the moldby a few stressful points of origin. This can frequently cause binding and stressful characteristics on thefiberglass that although may not be seen by the naked eye, can create a mountain of expensive repairsfor you down the road. We use rollover deck dollies that pull the hulls and decks out of the molds atmultiple, strategic points…reducing the stress significantly and maintaining the integrity of each mold.

ECO-FRIENDLY PRODUCTION – At Monterey, we’re continually introducing products that willhelp us be more eco-friendly. One of our latest is a product called Envirosolve that takes the place ofacetone. This new product eliminates VOCs and hazardous concerns.

QUALITY ASSURANCE – We employ a dedicated quality assurance team that constantly evaluatesour processes and products, ensuring our standards are met…and your expectations are exceeded.

TOP COMPONENTS – Only the best products make it into a Monterey. For instance, our mostrecent introduction is a new vinyl into our model line-up. It’s softer to the touch, easier to clean, moredurable and even whiter/cleaner looking than before.

MAXIMUM HULL PROTECTION – To keep your boats looking great while out in nature’selements, we apply a layer of added protection to colored hulls called SprayCore 1800. This product,sprayed against the gelcoat, dramatically improves and protects the surface profile.

MODEL INNOVATIONS – Each year, Monterey introduces numerous model enhancements onaverage to its product line. For this model year we’ve updated the cockpit carpet; added brushed nickelfaucets in the heads and galleys; replaced our cherry wood trim with Sapele African mahogany woodtrim package; a unique cockpit table side-mount; additional A/C air duct in cockpit for added convenienceto the crew; Karadon countertops; new upholstery and larger gunnel molding just to name a few.

TOP EQUIPMENT – Technology can be found in every aspect of our design and boat buildingprocesses, from computers to machinery…and here’s a perfect example. When measuring hull and gelcoat thickness, we use a digital sonogram to ensure proper thickness throughout.
