Thomspson’s Distributing Inc. Management, Staff & Volunteers, would like to thank

Butte Emergency Food Bank.

1988 marked the first year of the Thompson Distributing food drive to benefit the Butte Emergency Food Bank. Now, 22 years later, the evolution of this remarkable annual event needs to be recorded. This effort is unique to Butte and the generousity of its citizens. From the beginning, Jim and Margie Thompson and their sons Scott, Dan and Mark, along with the extended Thompson family plus Brad Belke and Bill Gibson, have been community movers and shakers to make this annual event of reaching out to those in need so successful.

The 22nd annual “Thompson Distributing City Wide Food Drive” will be held throughout the city today!

With the help of all the Volunteer Fire Departments and the 15-90 Search and Rescue along with hundreds of volun-teers, the “Thompson Distributing City Wide Food Drive” will begin at 10 a.m and run until done. The Racetrack Fire Hall will be the center of operations. A light lunch of pizza, chili and Pepsi will be served to volunteers.

Last year the food drive collected over 100,000 items and $30,000 in cash. In the past 21 years, 1,675,000 food items and over $248,000 have been collected for the Butte Emergency Food Bank. In 2009, we had over 700 volunteers!

Residents interested in donating food during the drive may leave bagged grocery items outside their homes the this morning.
