FIREFIGHTER 1 TERMINATION DUE TO MISSED CLASSES: Attendance will be based on a point system. A weeknight class carries a weight of 1 point. A weekend class carries the weight of 2 points. There are 40 points in total for this course. Any student accumulating 8 points of missed classes will be dismissed from the course.

FIREFIGHTER 1 Failure to attend the following course modules will result in a student being dropped from the program: Module 5: first SCBA practical session. This session is critical to student safety. This session requires mandatory attendance or the student will be immediately dropped from the program. They will have the opportunity to re-enroll the following semester. • Any student failing to attend a Live Burn module (Module 23 or Module 25) will be ineligible to participate in the Putting It All Together day. • Be advised: The Academy reserves the right to disallow a student to participate in Put It All Together Day based on skill drill proficiency throughout the course.

Drillground Guidelines

• PLEASE BE READY TO START AT 7 PM • Burn menu / Guidelines to be put on Website • Submit Drill Plan prior to drill • The Department Training Officer / Coordinator should arrive early to liaison

with Academy Staff regarding scheduled training evolutions

• ALL NIGHT DRILL GROUNDS WILL HAVE A HARD STOP at 9:15 pm • Departments are expected to assist in the post-drill clean-up if needed

Drillground PPE Guidelines

• Unless permitted by the Lead Instructor, all members actively operating in the structure shall be in full turnout clothing with SCBA

• Anyone, regardless of affiliation or rank shall wear a helmet when on the

concrete padding of the burn building • All apparatus operators shall wear at least a helmet and gloves at all times that

drills are being conducted • It is the responsibility of all instructors / participating Department Officers to

ensure PPE policies are followed and strictly enforced

CLASS GUIDELINES 1. All daytime classes start promptly at 0900 hours. All Night classes start promptly at 1900 hours. 2. Each participant will receive, upon entry, a sign-in card. Please print legibly. The Academy is not responsible to give credit

to individuals with indecipherable information. 3. Completed sign-in cards will be handed in at the conclusion of the training. ALL students are required to remain for the

duration of the training. 4. Only ONE card will be permitted to be handed in per student. No one will be permitted to hand in cards for others.

Anyone attempting to hand in a card for another member(s) will result in no credit given to members not present at end. 5. Members that cannot attend with their Department are welcome to attend any other session, capacity-willing. Those
