Natterjack Toad• Strictly protected under

the European Habitat directive (annex IV)

• Pioneer, moving each night, colonize new habitats very quickly

What’s the problem (2004)?• Very common in Noordoostpolder

(subregion within Flevoland)• Construction projects – stopped

What’s the aim?• Guarantee the favourable conservation status of the

natterjack Toad in the Noordoostpolder;

• Strengthening the populations of Natterjack Toad in the Noordoostpolder by improving the Habitat;

• Reducing or preventing inhibiting effect in spatial developments by extensive ecological investigations and legal proceedings concerning the Natterjack Toad in the Noordoostpolder.
