A few words from Monica—

As I’m writing this it’s only May but it surely feels like summer! We had a wild winter and now we already have sun—lots and lots of sun. Life is great! Many of you heard that I got engaged on my birthday this past December. Thanks for all your good wishes. Patric and I haven’t set a date—we tell everyone maybe 5 years from now on a beach in Bali...Even more exciting news in my life is that my daughter, Maria, and her husband, Andre, are expecting my third grandchild! It’s a girl and she’s due on August. I can hardly wait. The shop is full of fabric as we get ready for our summer retreats at the Hyatt. We do have a few spots left in week 4 (August 18, 19, 20.) The fee is $380 and that includes your quilt kit and most meals. The hotel is an additional $120 per night. This year’s theme is A Day At the Circus. Confident Beginner: Previous experience with rotary cutting equipment and a good understanding of basic quilt construction techniques Intermediate & Beyond: Substantial experience with quilt or clothing construction and design techniques. If you have unfinished projects and need just a little help, our Sit & Sew sessions are perfect for you. They’re a little bit of work & a whole lot of laughter. What could be better than access to an expert while you’re sewing & making new friends at the same time? Registration & payment is required before class day. Paper Piecing $45

Would you like to get perfect points with minimal effort? Can’t cut straight or get a consistent 1/4” seam allowance? No worries! Paper Piecing the Judy Niemeyer way is the answer—just sew on the line and watch as the pieces take shape into intricate designs. This class is perfect for all levels. There are lots of fabulous laser cut fusible applique kits on the market. It’s easy to get confused by the instructions and materials. We'll walk you through the pattern, help you identify and organize the pre-cut parts and show you some easy methods for placing your pieces. You'll have time to get started on your project in class and will go home knowing how to successfully complete your quilt top. We'll demonstrate with Hoffman's Dance of the Dragonflies kit but the techniques can be used

Basic Knotting $35 Learn the basics of knotting with string

using specialized tweezers. This class is great for beginners or students wishing to refresh their knotting skills. Patricia will help you design a

Summer Make and Take Special!

Celebrate summer with a couple of easy projects! We’ve got kits for the Project Bead earrings and necklace we offered during Season. Hi Everybody. I hope you are all planning some fun, cool, relaxing activities and vacations for the summer. I will be taking off from June thru August to be with my 16 year old daughter. In two years she will be on her way to college. I’m eager to spend time with her before I blink and she’s off on her own. We will fit in a few road trips to see family as well. As some of you know we bought a house and are remodeling it. There is always something to do! So we will be working on that, I would like to continue my education in jewelry and of course there will be time to create some new jewelry too. Speaking of new, the first 3 classes NEW— I will be offering classes again starting in September.
