IntroductionMongolian University

of Life Sciences (MULS)was established in 1942,respectivelyoriginatedas theFacultyofVeterinaryMedicinefrom the National UniversityofMongolia.MULShasbeendevelopedasauniquescienceand technology institutionbasedon lifesciencesasthescientific field that supportthe fundamentals of humansociety, agriculture andindustry.TodayMULSstrivestoward

achieving a society thatenablessustainabledevelopment,andholdstothefundamentalprinciplesofcontributingtotheadvancementofscienceandtechnologyinharmonywithsocietyandthenaturalenvironmentinMongolia.

EducationOurprogramsallowstudentstopursueadegreeinspecializedareasandarecommitted

tosatisfyingstudentneedsforlife-longcontinuingeducation.Theuniversityisdistinctivein that all of its undergraduate and graduate schools, research institutions are locatedtogetherononecampus,creatingafavorableenvironmentthatisconductivetocombinetheeducationandresearch.

“KHATANTUUL” STUDENT THEATRE

AlthoughMULSdoesnotofferartisticandculturalcourses,considershighlyrevealinganddeveloping students’ talentwhichhasbeenput into effect. Latin-Americandance crew “Khatantuul” haswon 1st place ofNationalDanceChampionship 13timesand7thand8thplaceofWorldDanceChampionship.MULShastraditionalfolkmusiccrewcalled“KhatanEkh”aswell.Thistheatreisnamed“Khatantuul”asdedicatedtotheircontributiontoMULS.

The Center for Ecosystem Studies:Center for Ecosystem Studies was established in 2003. The center is well equipped for the field vegetation survey and for laboratory studies on plant regeneration, and designated for research and education on ecosystem, particularly on grassland ecosystem.

The center has been conducting following three main activities:

The Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer:The Center has been assisting farmers and food producers in optimizing their technologies and maximizing their incomes through training and consulting since its establishment in 2006. In addition, the center conducts research in rural communication and extension, and implements various research projects and events aimed at the transfer of technological solutions developed by the researchers of the Mongolian State University of Agriculture into the production.

The museum of Mongolian nomadic culture and civilizationCollection and enrichment, maintenance and conservation of the rare and unique exhibits inherited by Nomadic lifestyle, culture, custom and civilization and traditional ways of pastoral animal husbandry and crop planting practices used for years as well as promotion and popularization of education activities for young generation of Mongolia.

CENTERFORAGRICULTURALEXTENSIONANDINNOVATIONAgricultural extension and innovation center is a unit of the university, whichisaimedtocirculatetheknowledgetotheproductionandbusiness, todeveloptheenvironmentally friendly andhighly efficient sustainableagriculture throughpromotionof intellectual and innovation inventions and creations of professorsandresearchers.

MISSIONInstitute of Veterinary Medicine (IVM) is a leading veterinary research organization of Mongolia which is implementing research projects on study animal infectious, non-insfectious diseases and its diagnostic, therapeutic and prophylactic methods and measures and to improve anufacturing technology of and develop new technology for veterinary drugs and bio-preparations.

INTRODUcTIONThe Institute of Veterinary MedicinewasestablishedasabranchofResearchInstituteofAnimalHusbandryin1961,andbecameanindependentresearchInstituteof Veterinary and Medicine in 1987. Sofar, in total 5 meritorious veterinarianof Mongolia, 2 meritorious scientistof Mongolia, 11 State prize laureates,7 members of Mongolian Academy ofSciences,1memberofEuro-AsianInternationalAcademyofSciencesand5membersofAcademyofAgriculturalSciences.9ownersofScientificdiscoveries,21doctorsofsciences,130PhDshavebeenbornfromourInstitute.AsaforemostveterinaryscientificorganizationinMongolia,theInstituteofVeterinaryMedicineisnationallyrecognizedforitsworkonvariousinfectious,parasiticandnoninfectiousdiseasesinanimalsandmeasuresofdiagnosing,curingandpreventingtheanimaldiseases,anddevelopmentofnovelveterinarydrugsandadvancedtechnologies.

activities for both the faculties and students of

MSUA. These centers have experimental and

production land area more than 150 hectares

for cultivation of different kind of grops

and vegetation plants and necessary farming

tools and agricultural machineries for plant

production and experimentation.

Also the centers have been connected to central

electricity system and arrange the housing of

the researchers and students.
