On behalf of the members of the Oklahoma Hereford

Association, welcome to their 17th Annual Fall Sale,

which will be held again at the Brooks Cattle Company

sale facility at Marietta, Oklahoma.

This year’s offering includes an excellent set of stout,

service-age, trich-tested bulls. These powerful bulls

exhibit solid phenotype and a nice set of numbers along

with a variety of pedigrees from which you can select

your next herd sire.

The registered females include a top open heifer

prospect, spring bred heifers and cows plus a couple of

fall pairs and a yearling heifer. These females are the

replacement kind and quality you will be proud to take

home. A select group of 10 commercial black baldy

spring bred heifers also sells.

The demand for top quality Hereford seedstock

continues to increase. These cattle are consigned by

some of the top breeders not only from Oklahoma but

from other states as well.

All cattle will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer in charge of thesale will settle any disputes with regards to bids, and his decision will be final.

ANNOUNCEMENTSCorrections or additions to any information in the sale catalog will be an-nounced from the auction block prior to the selling of the animal, and suchannouncements will take precedence over printed material. We reserve theright to withdraw any sale lot not meeting our specifications prior to sale time.Animals that are carriers of known genetic abnormalities will be indicated inthe sale catalog and/or announced from the auction block.It is the responsibility of the seller to provide the sale manager, in writ ing, priorto the sale, a listing of corrections of information printed in the sale catalog.

PAYMENT TERMSAll sales are for immediate cash settlement unless other credit arrangementshave been established between buyer and seller prior to the sale.

BUYER’S RISKThe animal becomes the property and risk of the buyer as soon as sold, butit shall be the responsibility of the seller to see that animals are properly caredfor, free of charge to purchaser, until delivered to buyer or until the expirationof 24 hours after the sale, whichever comes first.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATIONSeller shall transfer a registered breeding animal to buyer within 10 days ofsettlement. No animals will be transferred until paid for in full. The seller guarantees that the animal is registered according to the rules ofthe AHA and that the pedigrees of all animals are registered in the Herd Bookof the AHA, with the exception of stated commercial females selling.If a female is sold bred and carrying the service of bulls requiring A.I. certifi-cates, said certificates shall be provided by the seller unless otherwise stated.

RIGHTS TO GENETIC MATERIALRights to genetic material for purposes of cloning an animal shall be trans-ferred to the buyer with a legal bill of sale unless otherwise specified by theseller in the terms and conditions and/or the bill of sale.

AHA EXPECTED PROGENY DIFFERENCES (EPDs)Expected progeny differences provided to Hereford breeders enrolled in theAHA TPR program are statistical predictions, or estimates, of expected per-formance of future progeny, not guarantees of performance. EPDs reportedwere current as of 10/29/19. EPDs are updated weekly and can be viewed on-line at www.hereford.org.

HEALTHAll animals will be eligible for interstate shipment as required by federal reg-ulations. All service-age bulls have been fertility tested and tested for tri-chomoniasis. Buyers should be aware of their own state’s specific healthrequirements.

BREEDING GUARANTEESAll animals are guaranteed to be breeders with the exception of (a) calvesunder 12 months of age at time of purchase; (b) any female that is placed inan embryo transplant program and subjected to super-ovulation; or (c) grossnegligence on the part of the buyer.Sellers guarantee that bulls are breeders if the bull is at least 12 months of ageat the time of the sale and is not turned with cows before 14 months of age. Abull can also be guaranteed a breeder if he has passed a breeding soundnessexam performed by a competent veterinarian or reproductive technician. Anyagreement with respect to the ability to freeze semen shall be a separateagreement between buyer and seller. Females sold as safe in calf have been examined by a competent veterinarianor have been guaranteed safe in calf through a blood test.Open females are guaranteed to be without calf.Any agreement with respect to Embryo Transfer production shall be a separateagreement between buyer and seller.
