As for wheeling him back on seven days rest, trainerKeith Desormeaux said, AThe typical signs after a horseruns a tough race are, they come out of the feed tub, they might not have as much enthusiasm duringtraining, they lose a little weight; typical stuff, and hedidn=t show any of those signs during the week.

I did the best I could to convince myself not to runback in a week. But this race stared me in the face, amile and three-quarters, and with that long, lumberingstride he has, plus the fact that he can cover it so well,I just had to do it. Definitely [Going Somewhere, gettingout on the turns] helped us out. I just told Kent in thepaddock that it=s all about putting the horse to sleepthe first part of the race. It doesn=t matter if they runthe half in :46 or :51, it=s how well your horse isrelaxed during the first part of the race. It=s of ultimateimportance in a mile and three-quarter race, and that=sexactly what he did; he put him to sleep.@ Neil Drysdale, trainer of Going Somwhere, noted thatthe horse had trouble on the turns due to hisequipment. AWe had trouble with the bit, we had thewrong bit on him,@ Drysdale said. AHe ran dynamiteconsidering Mike couldn=t steer him.@ Crucero was claimed off of Hronis Racing and trainerJohn Sadler for $40,000 after finishing fifth going amile over the main track here in January. When she heads to post--barring accidents--for thisyear=s Arc, Treve will not be anything like the 14-1 onoffer in 2014, with her season going as smoothly aslast term=s proved tumultuous. Grand Prix de Saint Cloud result cont. Kept closer to the pace than has been the case in thepast by Thierry Jarnet, Treve stalked the leading trio, which included her lone-running pacemaker and Arcrunner-up Flintshire, who was at the head of the maincontenders. Allowing him first run at the top of thestraight, she never looked likely to do anything otherthan beat him hollow and it may have been the fastground that led her to drift slightly right when sent pastwith 1 1/2 furlongs left. Straightened by some light

taps with the whip, she was comfortablyon top at the end of arace, which servedonly to furtheradvertise herconsiderable talent asa peaking 5-year-old.Harry Herbert, racingadvisor to Al ShaqabRacing, was delightedwith the outcome.AThat was reallyexciting. It just shows

she=s as good as ever or better than ever, because itwas a very impressive performance on ground that wascertainly quicker than ideal,@ he said. We hope now the plan can be executed. We=re halfway through the plan.@

Lovely Day spent his sophomore campaign knockingat the door in stakes company, and he at last brokethrough at that level as a 4-year-old last year whentaking the Listed Metropolitan S. That effort proved hisonly win of the season, but he got 2015 off on theright note, earning back-to-back group scores in the G3Nakayama Kimpai Jan. 4 and the G2 Kyoto Kinen Feb.15., with the 2013 G1 Japanese Derby winner Kizuna(Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) back in third in the latter

event. He couldmanage only sixthbehind this race=sfavorite, Gold Ship(Jpn) (Stay Gold{Jpn}), and Denim andRuby in the 3000meter G2 HanshinDaishoten Mar. 22,and was a narrowlybeaten eighth behindGold Ship in the 3200meter G1 Tenno Sho

Spring May 3. Lovely Day added his third stakes win ofthe year when dropping back to 2000 meters to takethe G3 Naruo Kinen June 6, and was dispatched thesixth choice of 16 here. Breaking well from the widestgate as two-time defending winner Gold Ship (Jpn)(Stay Gold {Jpn}) played up badly one slot to his inside, blowing all chance, Lovely Day traveled a length secondoff an easy pace down the backstretch. Inheriting thelead when the front-running Red Davis (Jpn) (AgnesTachyon {Jpn}) began to tire at the top of the lane,Lovely Day pulled about two lengths clear and foundthe wire just in time to hold off the fast-finishing Denimand Ruby and earned an automatic start in the GI Breeders= Cup Turf in this >Win and You=re In=qualifier. The talented but typically unruly Gold Ship, who spotted the field at least 15 lengths at the breakafter repeatedly rearing in the gate, faced aninsurmountable gap and beat one home in his quest towin this for a third straight year. AI was able to position him behind the frontrunnerwith ease, as the pace was slow,@ said winning jockeyYuga Kawada. AHe responded really well. I was awareof the mare closing in and prayed that he could fendher off. I rode him for the first time [in about a year]after he claimed three graded-race titles and felt that hewas growing with every race.@
