DESCRIPTION

Southwest Georgia Technical College (SWGTC) offers a variety of continuing education courses that include computer training, health and safety training, professional development, customized training, and personal enrichment. A wide range of short courses, workshops, and seminars are available for professional development. However, Southwest Georgia Technical College will develop courses and workshops based upon local needs and requirements. Discover new hobbies in our personal enrichment courses in areas such as landscaping or photography or fine-tune your business skills in computer programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, or Access, just to name a few.

MESSAGE FROM VICE PRESIDENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:

Continuing education is an important part of the Economic Development Unit at Southwest Georgia Technical College. The Momentum provides course offerings that are needed by business and industry to maintain compliance with OSHA and/or industry certification; and it includes personal enrichment courses that help you learn or improve a skill that you enjoy. The Georgia Real Estate Commission approves SWGTC as a referal school. These courses provide a high-quality alternative to classroom lecture courses. Independent study courses are convenient and participants may choose when to begin a program. Students can study when it is most convenient and may elect to study at home or in one of SWGTC’s computer labs. All courses are approved by Applied Measurement Professionals of Georgia. October 21, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Cost is $260.

Heartsaver CPR, AED, and First Aid:Please call for dates. Cost is $80.

Cost of this course is $199 or $299 with driving.

In the state of Georgia, Joshua’s Law requires 30 hours of class instruction and 6 hours of driving and observatoin, to earn a class D license. Additionally, most insurance companies

give a discount upon completion of this course. Participants must be at least 15 years old and possess a learners permit. Private driving instruction also available.

Conference Rooms:• 3 options available• accommodates up to 20 people• great for executive meetings• large business tables• comfortable, ergonomically- designed chairs• equipped with overhead or portable projectors that are connected to an available desktop or laptop computer

Room A-132:• best for large meetings, training sessions or classes• accommodates up to 75 people• equipped with an overhead projector that is connected to an available desktop computer • equipped with sound system that may be used upon request

Computer Room A-230:• equipped with 24 student desktop computers • one instructor’s desktop computer• instructor’s computer is connected to an overhead projector to facilitate instructional activities• printer available upon request

SWGTC of Grady County:Classrooms which can accommodate up to 20 people per room are available. These rooms are equipped with overhead projectors that are connected to available desktop computers. Reservations for these rooms must be made at least six weeks in advance.

High-tech Auditorium:• located in our new Health Science Building (B)• our most modern facility • can seat up to 149 people• tiered, lecture hall set-up• video and audio systems available upon request • ideal for training or lectures for large groups

Rooms D-106, D-107, & D-108: • accommodates up to 200 people combined (D-106 and D-108 can accommodate up to 75 people in each room individually, D-107 can accommodate up to 50)• each room is equipped with an overhead projector that is connected to an available desktop or laptop computer• sound systems available upon request
