Achievements: collaborative research with Dept. of Material Eng., University of Tokyo, for experimental investigations and numerical analysis of an innovative laminated structural steel, low-ductility_high-strength/high-ductility_low-strength (LDHS/HDLS) laminate. The laminate deformability is in question and has been studied.

Oct. 2003 to Sept. 2006:

1- Member of the Applied Mechanics Laboratory and Intelligent Modeling Laboratory, University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Engineering. Achievements: The DOSE (Distributed Object-based Software Environment) has been envisioned and developed for urban system integrated simulation under urban-scale hazards such as earthquake, tsunami, and blast. City of Kobe (Kobe district) and Bunkyo city (Tokyo district) have been simulated under earthquake hazard.

2- Member of the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI, http://www.iai-international.org/) Japan chapter, civil/structural engineering group. Achievements: The Shared Computer-Aided Structural Design Model has been envisioned and developed to enable interoperability among structural design participants in construction industry through the so-called E-Interaction, IAI ST-7 project.
