What is the Dunya?

“Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, a show and boasting among yourselves, a quest for greater riches and more children. Its similitude is that of vegetation that flourish after rain: the growth of which delights the tillers, then it withers and you see it turn yellow, soon it becomes dry and crumbles away. In the hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but an illusion.” [57:20]

“Be a Good Muslim when you’re older…”

ONLY Allah swt knows when your death will come, and we have no guarantee that we will reach old age. Furthermore, as we become more involved with the Dunya, we may forget why we were created, which makes it even more difficult to come back to Islam when we are older.

Don’t miss the opportunity of Worshipping Allah swt whilst you have youth

There are seven whom Allah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade: a just ruler; a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; two men who love each other for Allah's sake, meeting for that and parting upon that; a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position [for illegal intercourse], but be says: 'I fear Allah', a man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity; and a man who remembered Allah in private and so his eyes shed tears.' (Bukhari)

Many people will be in hell because of procrastination

“Until, when death comes to one of them , he says: “My Lord! Send me back. “So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!” No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected.” (99:100)

What do people regret most when they are dying?

•I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. •I wish I didn't work so hard. •I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.•I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends. •I wish that I had let myself be happier.

When you know you have an exam, what should you do?

When we know we have an exam coming up, we lock ourselves away and concentrate on studying. The biggest exam we will ever face is this life itself. We should work hard to study what Allah swt expects from us, and should perfect our characters. Our results will be broadcast to EVERYBODY who has ever lived on the Day of Judgement.

Do not delay yourself from performing good actions

Abu Hurairah (ra) reported the Messenger pbuh said, "Race to good actions as fast as you can. What are you waiting for except delayed poverty, oppressive wealth, debilitating illness, dottering senility, a swift death or the Dajjal? Or are you waiting for an unseen evil, or the Last Hour? The Last Hour will be most bitter and terrible." [Tirmidi]

Organise your life

Allah swt says: “O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew. And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed.” (62:9-10)
