Modifying a document without changing the original

1. Open the existing document with appropriate application (e.g. MS Word)

(a) this is often done by going to My Documents and doubleclic!ing on the

document name in the list of files.

. n the dialog box which then appears' change the name of the listed document in ameaningful way.

(a) this will %O* change the name of the original document.

(b) +lic! the ,-S$/0 button on the dialog box.2. Ma!e all the changes you want. %one of these changes will affect the original.

3. When finished' clic! FILE Save  from the menu abo4e.

5. erify the original and the new file exist separately by going to My Documents
