Volume 150 April 2016
Hello fellow club members:
Spring is here! This is not possible so soon in the year but, it is occurring and I am not ready for the end of WINTER. We, Linda and I, do intend to continue skiing until the resorts close and then turn to fishing and all of the other things this club and California offers.
This is an active social club and we have activities scheduled year round. We have organized bike rides, walks, wine tasting, kayaking, baseball events and hockey events on our schedule. In addition to our scheduled events, we can use our Lodge as a base for biking or hiking over the high Sierra and around Tahoe. I have observed that skiing enthusiasts love to be active and enjoy life to its fullest.
LODGE CLEAN UP WEEKEND is April 23 and 24th. This is a great social weekend in which we get the Lodge cleaned up and minor repairs accomplished all while enjoying the mountain environment and eating the great food provided. Please email or text our Lodge Chairwoman, Michelle Nightengale, to get on the dinner list and bed assignment if you are going to participate.
MSC ANNUAL MEETING ON APRIL 26 ELECTION NIGHT
Please note that the club elections are coming in April and we welcome new faces into the leadership ranks. If interested in a position, please talk to Randy or Roy, our election committee. Our first April meeting is nomination night for our club offices: President, 1st Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Lodge Trustee. Voting will occur at the 2nd April meeting on April 26. This is the Annual Club meeting required each year.
FWSA CONVENTION; June 9-12 in Arizona. This is a great social event, travel bargain opportunity, and FWSA organizational event. Lots of info is available on the FWSA web site: www.fwsa.org Our club provides financial support for this event.

LODGE NEWS
Spring is here!!! Plus we still have some snow to ski on, which when melted fills our lakes…so it is all good. The WORK WEEKEND is still April 22-24, 2016. Please let me know if you are interested in making the trip to the LODGE to help out. The club provides meals and your stay is FREE as long as you help out and clean the Lodge. It is also a great way to learn how the Lodge functions and the opportunity to meet some of the other members. Be sure to bring your bikes & or Skis as we are usually done with the cleaning by Saturday.
TRASH CONTAINERS: Here is the scoop on how you can help keep the costs down for the SKI CLUB by following the information I am sharing. We are charged by how many trash cans we fill up….so be sure to FILL each trash can up before starting to fill the 2nd Can up. The Trustees have decided to only put 2 cans in the Bear Proof Trash BOX. If you are at the Lodge and need the 3rd can it is in the basement. Be sure to let the next person know by leaving a note to put the 3rd can back in the basement once the trash company has done picking up the trash. Please put the Blue Recycle bags in the Bear Proof Trash Box NEXT to the trash cans.
Be sure to always do your part in cleaning up after your stay at the Lodge. Be sure to sign in and make sure all of your guests also sign the book when arriving and departing the lodge. Let me know if the lodge needs attention. Best way to contact me is by email or my home phone. [email protected] or 209-571-8125
Thanks!

Activities 2016 Spring is in the air and summer is just around the corner! Get your calenders out and mark the dates for some fun filled and exciting adventures with your friends and family with the MSC. All events are hosted by members and details will be discussed at the monthly meetings at Fuzzios and the newsletter. April is an open month since we have lodge cleanup April 22-24 and most members are involved in spring cleanup around the house. (ie. placing all of your ski equipment in storage, so your loved ones are not tripping over them all summer and using language that can't be repeated in this newsletter!) So with that said, have a great week and see you soon.If any questions contact myself, Cheryl Kelly or the individual member hosting the event. See you there! Jim Sylvia 2nd V.P.
