  • What does modeling mean? Modeling is when someone demonstrates or preforms a task or a skill prior to the student s attempt WCDSB, HDSB & Erinoakkids

Modeling can be used when we are teaching a multi step or complex skill such as how to hold a particular object, how to shoot a basketball in the gym, or how to sit nicely at circle Modeling Reduces Error Provides Information Builds Confidence Reduces Anxiety WCDSB, HDSB & Erinoakkids

  • Why do we model? Some of our students do not have the ability to understand what is required to perform certain skills. The student may have a few components, but may need to be taught certain steps for the skill to be complete. Modeling provides the student with visual information that is required with repetition and practice of the target skill WCDSB, HDSB & Erinoakkids
