Callum Deighton Model Export As soon as I had finished my objects it was pretty easy to export them. As they were objects made in LightWave it was pretty easy to put them into layout as it was as simple as dragging and dropping them into my scene. For texturing my models I UV Mapped them, this is so that the texture I add to them stretches over the entire surface instead of duplicating itself over the entire surface. I got the textures by uploading them to Photoshop and then converting them all to JPEG and placing them onto their respective surfaces. Engine Textures

Model Export

As soon as I had finished my objects it was pretty easy to export them.

For the engine textures the first thing I got was a hazard line texture as I think it is realistic to have one on the engine as they are usually found near dangerous objects.

I added a blue flare texture to the inside of the engine as it would represent the flames that would come out of the rocket. I chose this texture as it has a bright contrast like you would have on the flames of a rocket.

For the rest of the rocket I used a steel texture as I like the detail it shows when put on the rocket and it gives it the similar look to the rocket engine’s you would see in real life.

For the panel on my rocket I used a black technological looking texture I found, I chose it because I think it looks good on the panel and it has little details which I think improves the model overall. For the other parts such as the lever and buttons I used plain textures as I think it did not need too much detail.

Chair Textures

For the textures on my chair I found a shiny silver texture which I used because I think it added to the space-y feel of the ship.

Bed Textures

For the textures on my bed object I just used pretty much stereotypical bed textures as I think if I used any different textures it wouldn’t be recognizable.

For the covers I used this red texture as I think it provided a nice contrast on the model for the bed.

On the pillows I used this texture as it has a simple yet nice design and has a nice pattern.

Computer Textures

For my computer I left everything but the screens on the default texture because the default texture actually suits the model in my opinion.

For the top screen I used a stereotypical computer DOS screen as it is recognizable and people could easily identify it as a computer.

For the bottom screen/panel I used this technology texture to represent the wires that would be in the computer, I like the colours of it and genuinely looks like something you would find in a computer.

Shutter Door Textures

For the Sides of the door I used a shiny gold texture as I think it makes it gives off a strong look which I think would be needed on a spaceship.

For the door itself I used this shutter texture as I think it looks good on the model overall and improves the look of it.

Toilet Textures

For this object I used a shiny silver texture I found in Lightwave because I think it makes the appearance look pretty much similar to a real life toilet.

Sink Textures

For the sink I wanted to give it a realistic appearance similar to the toilet so I used a shiny green texture I found on Lightwave as well as a mirror –type texture for the hole in the centre as I feel out of all the textures I found this one gave it the best look.

Drawer Textures

To find the realistic appearance for the drawers I found a plain yellow texture in Lightwave which I really liked as well as a dull gold texture for the doorknob which I thought suited it very well.
