Each table has a selection of cards on the desk labelled “A” Each card represents a driver for implementing MM

measures or policy There are also several blank cards for any additional

ideas your group comes up with You have 5 minutes as group to rank the top 10 drivers in

order of importance, 1 being the most important and 10 the least

You must stick these on the board provided Group discussion (10 minutes)

Task 3: What are the successes and missed opportunities of MM projects and policies? What to do:

Each table has two sets of coloured post-its on their table, yellow and red Thinking about MM projects and policies in your cities or other cities (8

minutes): Write on the yellow post-its why projects and policies have been successful Write on the red post-its why projects and policies may have failed or

ended early You can discuss these with the group but all your points are valid!

Using the boards provided stick the post-its under the success or missed opportunity columns

Looking at everyone’s contributions what are the common themes occurring? Rank the top 3 successes and top 3 missed opportunities (8 minutes)

Nominate an individual from your group to tell these to the whole workshop (14 minutes)

Task 4: What are the key transfer mechanisms for influencing decision makers in MM?What to do:

Each table has a sheet with a list of transfer mechanisms and a set of blue post-its

Discuss in your group examples how any of these mechanisms have been successfully used to influence a decision maker? (10 minutes)

Write these on the blue post-its and stick up on the Task 4 board under each mechanism

If you can think of a different mechanism write this on the board Each participant has 5 stickers or tokens – using these vote on

which transfer mechanisms you think are most important for influencing decision makers (5 minutes)
