Motivation for eLearning at Moi University• Google Android for Good Project• Received more than 1,300 Android Nexus 7 Tablets• To be distributed to faculty, students and clinicians at Moi University, MTRH

and AMPATH• Main use will be to deliver

• medical content to students• HIV and other chronic diseases content to clinicians at Ampath and other peripheral sites• CMEs for faculty

• Need for content to be contextualized to our setting

• Upcoming Institute of Biomedical Informatics• Masters and PhD programs in health informatics

The portal

• Portal based on Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment)• Easy to modify and install• It is modular allowing installations of a choice of plugins• We implemented 18 modules that enabled the following

functionalities• Lessons, Wikis, Forums, Quiz, Surveys, Files etc.

• Implemented a mobile application• Available for Android, iOS, Windows

• Currently includes the following content:• Kenya clinical guidelines• MTRH medicine ward handbook• Chronic disease modules (HTN & DM)• AMPATH ART guidelines• Internal Medicine

• All content access is logged
