WA192: Mobilising Maritime Learning with BYOD – Challenger
Interactive PDF’s, Moodle, and a Wiki. This project seeks to build the capability of Challenger and
the Maritime Industry to create accessible training models for students employed at sea and to enhance learner pathways into higher Maritime qualifications.
It also aims to stimulate the uptake of 'bring your own devices' (BYOD) and to support flexible options for individual participation in training and employment, and to align with current workforce skill shortages for Ships Officers; Ships Maters and Ships Engineers.

iPad mini’s and eBooks. Durack intends to develop a better training and support
model for a group of between 15 and 20 Pre-Apprentices. The program will incorporate more engaging digital learning materials, delivered via iPads, instead of the traditional paper-based workbooks currently used for two Units of Competency.
