Workshop Goals • Develop capacities for ICT in education
interventions that are tailored to specific groups of learners and learning goals
• To expand our knowledge of best practices from experts in the field
• To innovate & create new solutions that work
• To help participants step outside of their day-to-day roles
• To see these kinds of projects from a new perspective
• Globally 124 million children and young adolescents have either never enrolled in school or have dropped out (UNESCO, 2013)
• 250 million school-aged children cannot read or do simple math (UNESCO, 2013)
• 25% fewer women than men have access to Internet in developing countries, and as much 50% fewer in some parts of SSA (BBC, 2015)

PARTNERSHIPS: Connect To Learn is a non-profit public-private collaboration, focused on providing secondary education, especially for girls, around the world.
MISSION: to increase access to secondary school for marginalized girls from resource poor communities through scholarships, and to raise the quality of education they and their peers receive through integration of digitally-enabled learning resources.

Activity Objective: To determine the best ICT in Education solution for each case that achieves the aims of improving specific learning outcomes for specific groups of learners within the limitations of all the involved stakeholders • Breakout 1: Get in groups
according to your assigned stakeholder role
• Breakout 2: Get in groups according to your assigned case
Breakout 1 – Stakeholder Groups
• Discuss priorities and perspectives for enabling quality education using ICT
• “Get in character” • What questions does your stakeholder have? • What challenges might your stakeholder face? • Be creative! Use the provided papers to diagram
how your stakeholder group works with other stakeholder groups
Breakout 2 – Case Studies
• Review case study and the guiding questions • Use your own experiences of ICT in education for
inspiration • Use the theory of change worksheet to record your
solutions and plans • Compare notes from Breakout 1 • Please write your names and contacts on the back
of your group’s sheet
