Meet Oreno: Mobile Control Made Easy

Oreno™ is Biamp’s mobile control software for Tesira®-equipped conference rooms. Easy to use and simple to deploy, Oreno can run on nearly any mobile device, and requires minimal UI design work and no client software to be installed. Oreno has three core components: Oreno Creator, Oreno Manager, and the Oreno User Interface.

Oreno CreatorA core productivity tool for AV integrators

The Oreno Creator allows you to create and commission Tesira control interfaces quickly and easily, with minimal programming required. Since Biamp has taken care of all the backend programming, you don’t need advanced training to implement or operate Oreno.

With Oreno Creator, you can:

• Reduce time spent on programming In Oreno Creator you can copy controllable items from a Tesira design file into

the Oreno control palette, or use the import function to grab an entire file. The Creator software also includes a “wizard” that automatically generates the necessary elements for each conference room.

• Work faster with Oreno’s pre-built templates There are four designs to choose from. These templates offer intuitive design and

a choice of color palettes, making the final UI easy for your customers to use.

• Deploy quickly and easily Once a UI has been built for each room in your installation, simply save your file

and upload it to Oreno Manager.

Oreno ManagerPutting your customer in control

Installing this software on a PC at the customer site allows you to pass control to the end user. It contains two key components – an application that communicates with the Tesira system and delivers the user interface; and the Oreno Management Console, which is accessed via a web browser.

With the Oreno Management Console you can:

• Connect to available Tesira systems

• Create administrator and user accounts

• Assign user access/rights to conference rooms

• Manage system users and log them out of a room if necessary

• Access administrative tools including event logging, control system on/off,

and room management and room usage data

Oreno User InterfaceAn intuitive, delightful user experience

Biamp collaborated with a world class UX consulting firm to develop Oreno. The Oreno User Interface was designed and tested to make controlling a call efficient and simple for meeting participants. Its elegant, intuitive user interface provides control of a room’s audio functions via a web application running on any mobile device with a compatible browser. Oreno is operated from a simple URL that can be entered into a browser on nearly any mobile device, from iPhone® or Android™ handsets to tablets to laptops. The interface is designed to adapt based on the device used to view it, and will automatically adjust to fit the display.

• Convenient Login An end user simply visits the designated URL and enters their unique login

information. The login information is saved to that device, so it only needs to be entered the first time Oreno is used. The URL can be saved as a bookmark in the browser application or, even better, saved as a shortcut on the device’s home screen.

• Web-Based Because the interface is web-based, there is no special software on the users’

devices. That means no installations and no updates for users.

• Tesira Controlled Because Tesira is controlling the call, temporary loss of Wi-Fi connectivity has

no effect on a live call, just the control functionality.

• Control Settings Oreno allows a user to lock the room so no one else can take over, or leave the

room unlocked. For example, if the meeting is left unlocked and the organizer’s phone loses power, another meeting participant can take over control with no disruption to the call. The administrator has the power to unlock any locked meeting if required.

• Interruption Protection Any calls or messages received on a mobile device will not interrupt the control

session or affect the function of the room. There are also protections in place to prevent a call from being ended by accident.

• Default Settings The “End Meeting” button concludes the call and returns the room to a

predetermined default setting, freeing it up for the next user.
