Stays stronger The reliability, performance and lifetime of equipment depend on an extremely thin lubricant film to

separate moving parts, reducing friction and wear. Because of its high-quality synthetic base stocks,

Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30 provides a more consistent and durable barrier than conventional mineral

oils. High-output, low-emission engines significantly increase demands on an engine lubricant.

Tighter engine design reduces oil consumption, resulting in less fresh oil make-up to replenish

depleted additives. Thermal stresses on the lubricant are increased with the use of intercoolers

and turbochargers. Higher fuel injection pressure and retarded timing help in the battle to reduce

emissions, but can also increase engine temperatures and soot-loading of the oil.

Performs better To meet the new maximum emission level requirements mandated by the European Union,

the 2008 models of on-highway engines are equipped with after treatment devices such

as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalysts or

Continuously Regenerating Traps (CRT). Installed in the engine’s exhaust system,

DPFs act to reduce particulate matter from the exhaust gas and require the use of

‘low-ash’ engine oils such as Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30 to function properly.

The low-ash content of Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30 helps to minimise build-up of inorganic

residues on the DPF. Blocked DPFs can be inefficient at removing particulates and can

lead to increased back pressure, with an negative impact on fuel economy.
