Dear Community Members,
I hope to see you this Saturday, June 3rd at our annualChinatown Community Picnic in Chinatown Park! Come outfrom 11:00 am - 2:00 pm and enjoy lively culturalperformances, Asian arts and crafts including calligraphy,lantern-making, origami and paper-cutting, face-painting andmore! Local community-based organizations and District governmentagencies including DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services,the Metropolitan Police Department and the Department ofConsumer and Regulatory Affairs will be on site to connect withcommunity members. A bike repair station, fitnessdemonstrations and CPR demonstrations will also be available.Admission is free; please RSVP here: 2017chinatownpicnic.eventbrite.com. Morning Tai Chi: Thursdays at 8:00 am
As part of Discover Chinatown Parks, MOAPIA held its first Tai Chi class of the year on May 18th.Come out to Chinatown Park every Thursday morning from 8:00 am - 9:00 am for free Tai Chi!
DC Dragon Boat Festival
On May 20th, MOAPIA organized a team for the annual DC Dragon Boat Festival, which consisted
of 20 teams and 400 paddlers. The team finished first in its first race and placed third in its final
two heats.
2017 Foodelicious Night
On May 24th, MOAPIA hosted its second Foodelicious Night at the US Navy Memorial. This event
fetaured exciting cooking demonstrations presented by Chef Erik Bruner-Yang from Maketto, Chef
Xiaolong Hu from Panda Gourmet, and Chef Nobu Yamazaki from Sushi Taro. Over 200 guests
attended.
MOAPIA Outreach
Twice a week, MOAPIA's outreach team visits businesses across the District to offer information
about government programs and resources. Resources are provided in the business owner's
native language and staff follow-up to help address any issues or complaints.

Fitness Sessions in Chinatown Park: Monday evenings at 6:30 pm
Starting on June 5th, MOAPIA will be hosting free outdoor fitness sessions in Chinatown Park. Joinus on Monday evenings in June and July from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm for zumba, yoga, doonya and
