MMStex® GARMENT M|ANAGEMENT SYSTEM EQUIPMENT FOR LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OF WORK CLOTHES

• MMStex® Garment Management System is the only solution on the market that guarantees an objective logistics management of all work clothes (folded textile or non-textile garments, footwear, PPE, towels, etc.). For this purpose, it has a complete range of different equipment that can be combined with each other by configuring mixed multifunctional delivery equipment,

o Delivery – Dispensing Equipment (folded garment) and Smart Locker (folded garment, PPE, towels)

o Return– Return Equipment (folded garment, PPE, towels):

• The MMStex equipment have a modular design (main module and slave module in dispenser/locker) and scalable configuration that makes it possible to add and remove slave modules based on capacity needs. • The modularity of the system is optimal for decentralised as well as centralised locations. • Each dispensing module has 2 cells inside, each cell stores up to 40/50 clean garments of the same type, colour and size. The dispensing mechanism, patented by MMS, does not use compressed air, it is individual for each cell, and delivers folded garment with and without bagging. For traceability management, MMStex® equipment works with RFID-UHF technology in a frequency range that can be regulated between 860 and 960 MHz, compatible with European CE standards (ETSI: 865.6 - 867.6 MHz, 2W, ERP) and North American FCC standards (FHSS: 902-928 MHz, 4W, EIRP), both outside the band range used by medical teams (2-15 MHz). • The MMStex return equipment has an optional built-in web cam inside the cylindrical return hopper to register the image of pieces of clothing/footwear/etc. returned when RFID technology is not the preferred option.


This document describes the features and functionalities of the entire range of MMStexÒGarment Management System equipment for the logistics management of textile garments (mainly work clothes) in a hospital environment.

MMStex® GARMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OPERATING CIRCUIT The MMStexÒ Garment Management System ensures the traceability of work clothes and offers a 24/7 service to users at the point of consumption (changing rooms).


TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MMStex® EQUIPMENT The MMStex equipmentÒhave a modular design, consisting of a master module and slave modules, which can be added or removed according to required capacity, making the solution scalable in both directions according to changing needs over time. Frame/Structure - MMStex® modules/units are manufactured in AISI1020 steel grade with a high strength epoxy paint coating. The module/unit base has 4 x 100 m 360° swivel wheels (two of which have brakes). The outer surface of the module is easy to clean and the base is more than 100 mm above the ground to make the cleaning beneath the unit easier. The module/unit front side features a door with electronic lock that is controlled by HMI user software and/or a manual lock with key to open in case of emergency. RFID Hardware - For the objective management of textile garment traceability, the dispensing or return equipment is fitted with a complete set of RFID hardware (reader and antennas) required to ensure the reading of the RFID-UHF tags/chips attached to the garment(s). MMStex equipment uses the UHF RFID European frequency ETSI UHF 865-868 MHz or other (it can be modified to comply with the regulations of each country).

Equipment Types - Depending on functionality, the MMStex® Garment Management System consists of different types of equipment,

Delivery. a. MMStex® Dispensing Unit for clean garments b. MMStex® Smart Locker Unit for clean garments

Return, c. MMStex® Return Unit for used/dirty garments d. RFID Gun for Manual Return for used/dirty garments (affecting the tag)

Softwares - The MMStex® equipment also includes a MMStex® HMI User Software. For the advanced management of the system (garments, users and equipment) the MMStex® Garment Manager software is available (see specific technical data sheets).

MMStex® SMART LOCKER and DISPENSING UNIT The MMStex® Dispensing Unit or Smart Locker are equipment that store clean garments. Both have a modular design consisting of a Main Module (M) with display, and none or several Slave Modules (S). The slave modules can be easily added or removed, which means that the dispensing unit/locker can scale its capacity to meet changing needs over time. User Interface Hardware - The main module (M) in both cases features a 7" touch screen display for raspberry Pi3, LCD-TFT (800X480), an SBC computer board and magnetic stripe card or Mifare RF card (proximity) or fingerprint reader for user identification.

Multicolour LEDs on the front of the opening/drawer (dispenser) or door (locker) help the user to quickly (light signal) and intuitively (flashing) identify the garment(s) collection point in the unit. Internal Automation Hardware- The main module (M) contains the electrical panel with automation control board, power supply, Ethernet switch, and LAN/WAN connection.


A. MMStex® DISPENSING MODULE

Dispensing Cell - Inside each module there are 2 dispensing cells, each containing a defined stock of garments of the same type, colour and size. The garment is presented folded in a maximum width of 250 mm and does NOT require bagging (no residues). Each cell has a patented, individual dispensing mechanism for each cell (not shared), which does NOT require compressed air for operation. The possibility of remotely locking a cell and thus isolating a possible incident/fault, makes it possible for the rest of the equipment (cell/s and module/s) to continue working normally. The MMStex® dispensing cell has an average capacity of 40/60 garments depending on garment thickness. Garment Delivery Opening/Drawer - Depending on whether the garment is non-textile (single use) or textile, there are 2 types of MMStex Dispensing Unit: Delivery via slot for non-textile (image 5) or delivery via drawer for textile (image 4).

When the garment is non-textile, delivery is made through a double slot or front opening to the cell and door of each module; when the garment is textile, delivery is made in the lower part of the module, in a garment collection drawer, which is fitted with an effective anti-theft mechanism (electronic lock) and a system to prevent hand entrapment. The main difference between the MMStex® Smart Locker Unit and the dispensing unit is in the delivery of the garments which, instead of being made in single units without access to the stock (in the dispenser), the garment is stacked on shelves or in baskets and picked up from the locker: In order to access the garment, the user must also identify themselves and place the order on the screen (type, size, colour and quantity of garments), the locker will only open the door/s of the module where the requested garment/s is located and, after the user closes the door/s, the equipment performs an RFID reading of the tags that remain inside the locker's garment stock. The difference between this reading and the previous one enables the system to determine the consumption of each user who accesses the MMStex® Smart Locker. The average internal capacity of a MMStex® Smart Locker module is 250/350 garments depending on garment thickness. The main advantage of the MMStex® Smart Locker for the Centre is that it is versatile enough to manage the traceability of folded/hung garments, professional footwear, PPE, towels, etc., and the information can be displayed in any format. Guiding Panels for ISO Baskets - In the MMStex® Smart Locker, garment stock is distributed in different adjustable shelves or ISO baskets that slide on internal side panels/guides. This simplifies accessibility to the garments (sliding), high storage capacity (high density) and differentiation of type, colour and size per shelf or basket.

MMStex® RETURN UNIT The MMStex® Return Unit is an equipment that stores dirty garments that are returned after use and must be washed by the Laundry; the equipment has a modular and scalable design. The average capacity of the MMStex® Return unit is 100 garments.

7. MMStex® Return Unit User Interface Hardware - The return unit features a 7" touch screen display for raspberry Pi3, LCD-TFT (800X480), an SBC computer board A luminous led on the front of the equipment help the user to quickly (light signal) and intuitively (flashing) identify the operation and opening of the unit's upper hopper. Internal Automation Hardware- The main module (M) contains the electrical panel with automation control board, power supply, Ethernet switch, and LAN/WAN connection. Upper Section - A metal hopper is located in the upper section that features a double semi-cylinder with controlled opening and closing; where the user places the dirty garments. After closing the hopper, the equipment identifies the RFID tag of the returned garment(s) and then places it on the lower trolley. If required, the equipment can be equipped with a webcam inside the hopper to capture a digital image of each garment being returned and link it with the user's image on the database. Lower Section - Inside the lower section of the return unit there is a bag holder trolley or cage trolley to accommodate the returned garments. The front of the lower section has a door w/key lock that opens > 90º enabling easy access to the trolley.
