A very funny story with a warm message!
ReviewsGood English.OrgA heartwarming tale of unconditional love in spite of all the mischief Little Frog gets up to, from drawing all over his father’sface to baking the telephone and being extremely mischievous. This simple and funny tale will strike a chord with all parents. It is an inspirational story of just loving and not giving up onchildren even when they are at their worst stages in life.
Nicola Collins, IBBY LinkI shared this book with young children (4 & 7 years old) the hu-mour was the overriding factor. The illustrations are bright, de-scriptive and very humorous. A reassuring book for all youngchildren, who will enjoy Little Frog’s naughty antics as well asthe message his family brings.
Armadillo MagazineThis is a bad boy’s book for tots, the story of a severely malad-justed lad who creates havoc wherever he goes… I read this storyto my almost three year-old grandson, who was enthralled, and,I think, got the message that however bad a child is, his parentswill still love him. There are plenty of spaces for the reading adultto turn to the child and say: ‘Wasn’t that naughty?’
Key selling points:• A tremendously funny and enjoyable book - children will simply adore Little Frog and
will enjoy being shocked at the naughty but funny things he gets up to; • The lively, colourful and vibrant illustrations are by one of Denmark’s most
admired cartoonists and illustrators, Jakob Martin Strid ;• Underneath the hilarious and riotous story there’s a warm and important message
about acceptance and belonging.
When Little Frog drops into the lives of a very normal family chaos ensues. The family want to love him,and he wants very much to be loved. The trouble is, he’s from another planet and he is actually very VERYnaughty...
Little Frog is trying to help. But, like a human toddler, he just hasn’t worked the rules out yet. He doesn’ttear the family’s books, but he does wash them in the sink! He never hits his new siblings, but he does drawon their faces while they are asleep! This makes his parents very upset and Little Frog thinks this meansthey don’t love him anymore. But of course they do - and they follow him to the ends of the earth to prove it.
A really funny book with a vitally important message that will reassure naughty (and not so naughty) children everywhere.

Stunning illustrations capture the exasperationof Bear, whose solitary reading and writing areconstantly interrupted by over enthusiasticGoose... But, in the end, Bear is won over and is surprisedto find Goose to be a splendid friend.

A piece of picture book perfection.” E.R. Bird, Children’s Librarian
WriteAway... brilliantly done! The frontispiece says “Because everyone loves agood story” and this is a wonderful book for portraying reading, writing and thinking in a positive light. A simple story simply told, with few words and enchanting pictures. Warm and engaging.
Books for KeepsIt is the ‘splendid’ illustrations that really make this book. Thelarge white polar bear and the cheekily intrusive goose are full oflife, and the heavenly blue background manages to reflect boththe bear’s grumpiness and goose’s flighty self-assuredness.Goose’s facial expressions make him lovable in spite of his bumptiousness. Parents will recognise and enjoy the desire tohave time to oneself in spite of demanding little ones.
Nicola Collins, IBBY LinkWith beautiful illustrations, this is a book of friendship and love.Bear is variously trying to read, write or think when he is repeat-edly interrupted by Goose. Goose’s persistent enthusiasm andBear’s annoyance and exasperation are clearly visible to even theyoungest reader. ..Bloom conveys both characters clearly and with great humour. The illustrations are very welcoming, particularly the texture ofBear’s fur. A lovely book to share with very young children.
Marilyn Brocklehurst in The BooksellerIn this beautifully illustrated picture book, Bear is exasperatedby enthusiastic Goose’s constant interruptions while he is tryingto read. Ultimately, he recognises the power and value of friend-ship and all is well. This is a book which will generate discussionfrom the youngest children.

Reviewed by Joy Court, Librarian on the Reading ZoneOnce upon a time a tiny publisher found a book so perfect for the preschool children it specialised in that it strived long and hard tobring it eventually to the UK. That book was A Splendid Friend Indeed– shortlisted for the UKLA Book Award and beloved by thoseteacher judges for the simplicity of the text and the impact of theevocative illustrations and its emotional truth.
Once again we have the perfect rendition of a very typical emotionalproblem for children of any age. The temptation and attraction of thenew friend juxtaposed with loyalty to the old friend.
There is incredible emotion in these skilfully rendered highly texturedpastel pictures. A pre-reader could completely tell the story from thepictures alone and indeed it will prompt very valuable talk opportuni-ties if you let them explain the pictures to you.
Without being at all preachy and issues-led and without any patronis-ing notes for parents and teachers, this is a very valuable resource foremotional literacy and a brilliant demonstration of the efficacy ofgood quality picture books to speak to us all. We should all say a big Thank You to Alanna Books for bringing Bearand Goose to the UK to become our friends too!
School Librarian Summer 2013A dilemma faced by most young children (and many adults!) is deftlyresolved by Goose's good will... The bold simple text in this excep-tional book tells the story of complex emotions in only 100 words...this would be an excellent trigger for classroom discussions...
IBBY Link 36It is impossible to imagine a more effective book about the trials andtribulations of friendship for younger readers than this one... There isno clutter in this book, in either the words or the pictures, leavingplenty of room for some lengthy discussions between reader and adult on how we treat our friends and what really matters.

Brian’s poetry never fails to capture the imagination of his many readers. If you are a newcomer to his work or a Brian Moses fanatic, this book will have you dancing with glee! These funny and feather-brained rhymes about animals, insects and birds are a real tweet!!!!! AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR Brian Moses is one of Britain’s favourite children’s poets, for both his own poetry and anthologies he has edited. He has performed in over two thousand schools across the UK and Europe. Brian’s interests range from the familiar – shopping trolley, football matches – to the peculiar – monsters, aliens and angles. Often he will mix the two together in his poetry so the ‘Shopping Trolley’ is souped-up like a futuristic sports car, while the monsters still go to school before coming home on ‘The Ghoul School Bus’. Brian has a particularly sharp eye for surreal moments in daily life the man in ’Walking with my Iguana’, who walks his pet lizard on Hastings beach on a leash, is based on a real person CONTACT DETAILS Caboodle Books are represented by: MMS 50 Godfrey Avenue Twickenham TW2 7PF. ABOUT THE AUTHOR English teacher Paul Nolan left the classroom behind to write historical fiction. Paul says “Whilst researching a history lesson on the Dunkirk evacuations, I stumbled upon the amazing story of Charles Lightoller, the most senior surviving crew member of the Titanic. Many had labeled him as a coward, and over the years that followed he was racked by guilt. This story of redemption really resonated with the children I was teaching. It inspired the idea of a WWI Conscientious Objector, restoring his reputation by assisting in the Dunkirk evacuation. I wanted the story to be told through the eyes of a child and that’s where Charlie Jones (the central character in of Demons of Dunkirk) comes in.'
SUMMARY To Hell then home again Charlie's mother and father work at a Spitfire factory in the fishing port of Hamble. After a run in with a brutal instructor on the naval training ship Mercury, the teenager finds himself on the run from the British navy. His father hooks him up with William - the Captain of the a fishing boat called the White Feather. A few days later, the pair find themselves caught up in the most heroic retreat of WW2 - the Dunkirk evacuation. EXTRACT “We’re nearer hell than home now Charlie,” the great man said, as we looked to the huge pillars of smoke, that spiraled above the beaches. We were there to save the soldiers; little did I know that soon I would need rescuing myself from the Demons of Dunkirk.
KEY SALES POINTS • Accurate historical background for pupils

In 1687, Newton published one of the most important books in the history of science. It was called Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica. In this book, Newton wrote about his work on gravity. He also wrote about his three laws of motion. These laws describe how different forces make objects move, change direction, or stop.
!"#$%!&'()*+'$(,-#
An object will carry on moving unless something stops it or changes its direction and a stationary object will stay still unless something makes it move. For example, a football will not move unless someone kicks it.
!"#$%!&'('".%!/(,-#
Force is equal to the mass of an object multiplied by its acceleration. This calculation allows us to work out the answers to lots of questions, including how much force is needed to push an aircraft of a certain weight through the air at a certain speed.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For example, if a girl on a scooter pushes her foot backwards, the scooter will move forwards.
