Douglas, cleaned, engraved and in good condition.

Individual membership costs £35 and each additional family membera further £25.
Your Friend of the Festival ticket will include free entry to the Songsfrom the Musicals evening which this year will also include the Popular Songand the Music Hall and Comic Song classes.

12.Whereatimelimithasbeenstatedthiswillbeadheredtostrictly.Onemarkper30secondsorpartthereofwillbedeductedifthetimelimitisexceeded.
13.Theuseofanyrecordingequipmentincludingphones,cameras,video,audioetc.isprohibitedinthecompetitionrooms,becauseofcopyrightlegalrestrictions,childprotectionandtoavoiddisturbingcompetitors.
14.Competitorsappearinginclassesshouldbeappropriatelydressed.

6. InthecaseoftheJuniorclassesrun-throughswiththeofficialaccompanistmaybearrangedatmutualconvenienceandatthecompetitor’sexpense.
7. Competitorswhousewordsand/ormusicinSoloorDuetsingingclasses(exceptClassS8)willnotbeawardedamark.
8. Competitorswhocompeteinaclasswhichisdelineatedbygradeshouldbeatorworkingtowardsthatgrade,notsimplyplayingapiecefromthatgrade.
9. Competitorswhodecide,forunavoidablereasons,towithdrawshouldinformboththeSecretaryand(ifapplicable)theiraccompanistnolaterthan2weeksbeforetheclass.
10.TheFestivalisunderlegalobligationtosupplythePerformingRightsSocietywithdetailsofallitemsperformedattheFestival,therefore,thefollowingmustbeadheredto.
(i) EntrieswillNOTbeacceptedwithoutfulldetailsincluding Titles,Composers,KeyandDurationofpiecebeingshown ontheentryform. (ii) Nocompetitorwillbepermittedtochangethepieceafter theentryformhasbeenaccepted.11.Competitorsmaynotchooseasetpiecespecifiedforotherclasses.12.Ownchoicemusicmustbesubmittedwiththeentryformonlyiftheofficial
accompanistisrequested.13.Inclasseswhereanofficialaccompanistisrequestedthecopyfortheaccompanistmust
beincludedwiththeentryform,otherwisethisservicewillnotbeavailable.ThismusicmustbeinthekeyandtranslationwhichwillbeusedinthecompetitionwiththeClass,competitor’snameandtelephonenumberclearlyprintedoneachcopyofmusic.Nostaples,please.Copiesmustbemarkedclearlywiththenameofthecompetitorplusclassandpagenumber.SeeCopyrightRules.OnlineentrantsshouldalsosendtheirmusictotheFestivalSecretary,12DevonshireRoad,Douglas,IsleofMan.IM23RBby the closing date for entries.
14.Oncetheofficialaccompanisthasbeenrequestedthisdecisioncannotbechanged.15.AcopyofthepiecefortheAdjudicatormustbemadeavailableatthetimeofthe
competition,clearlymarkedwiththecompetitor’sname,classandpagenumber.Failuretoproducethiswillresultindisqualification.
16. Ifsinginginaforeignlanguageashort30-60secondprécisofthepiecemaybegivenbythecompetitororprovidedforthestewardtoreadtotheaudience.
17.Allcompetitorsshouldnotethatpieceswithinappropriatelanguageand/orcontentmustnotbeentered.Piecesmustbesuitableforfamilyaudiences.
Copies of own choice works for the Adjudicator.Wherecopyrightstillexists,theMusicPublishersAssociationhasarevisedCodeofPracticeoncopyingcopyrightworks,andthefollowingconcessionismadeforcopyingownchoicepiecesfrom volumes onlyfortheAdjudicator.Otheritemsmustnotbephotocopiedwithoutthepermissionofthecopyrightholderineachcase.
WhenanOwnChoiceworkisselectedfromapublicationcontainingseveraldifferentworksandwhichisnotpublishedseparately,onecopymaybemadefortheuseofanadjudicatoratacompetitionorfestivalprovidedthatthecompetitororparticipanthasalreadypurchasedhis/herowncopyandthatthecopymadeisretainedanddestroyedbytheAdministratoroftheCompetitionorFestivalimmediatelyaftertheevent.

Single copies of items may not be photocopied without the prior permission of the copyright holder.

The Manx Competitive Music, Speech and Dance Festival is registered as a company limited by guarantee, i.e. no shareholders, and also a charity.
This means that, under current income tax legislation, charitable donations between £100 and £5000 and deeds of covenant capable of lasting more than 3 years are both allowable as deduc-tions for income tax purposes. Once made a deed of covenant is irrevocable, cannot be back-dated, stopped or changed. There is a minimum or maximum amount which can be covenanted.
