MLI Academic ProgrammeHere at MLI we have a dynamic approach to ‘TEENching’. Our methodology is exciting, empowering and enjoyable.

MLI’s educational philosophy is based upon the idea that learning in the summer course setting should break from the normal classroom routine and be FUN. We want our students to learn to communicate effectively in English with confidence and eagerness.

• Team-teaching ensures that students experience a range of interaction, different personalities, accents and approaches to spark their interest and challenge their learning.

• MLI’s resources are handpicked and tailored to suitably engage, support and stimulate students.

• We place emphasis on linking our cultural programme to our lessons to ensure that the students are continually learning, in and out of lessons.

• Each student is presented with an MLI Student Diary to focus them on their learning and achievements, to set goals and consider how and the best ways to learn English.

• All students sit a placement test on their first day, which consists of a written and a speaking exam. The results are combined to ensure students are placed correctly in a challenging class to meet the students’ needs.

• On completion of their course with us, students receive an MLI Certificate of Achievement.

Student Welfare Here at MLI International Schools, the welfare and safeguarding of our students is of upmost importance. We want everyone to have a fantastic stay with us, full of new and fun experiences, but we want everyone to be safe too. Here are some details on the level of care we dedicate to our students:

• Each centre has a dedicated Welfare Officer who, along with the rest of the MLI Staff, ensures the well-being of all our students. The Welfare Officer also has a 24 hour mobile number in case the students need to contact him/her.

• Supervision – all MLI lessons, activities and excursions are well-supervised by MLI staff and the group leaders accompanying the students from their home countries. Students do have free time every day but staff periodically patrol the centre campuses to make sure everyone is safe and happy.

• Wristbands – all students must wear a wristband during their time with us which shows the centre name, address and emergency number.

• Road Safety – all students are taught about road rules and are given a ‘Road Safety’ card to carry to remind them to be safe.

• Tube Rules – all students at our London Wembley centre are taught about using the Tube and are given Tube Rules cards to remind them how to keep safe and what to do in the unlikely event they get lost.

• MLI centres operate a Buddy System, to ensure that no student is alone at any time.

MLI Social ProgrammeThe MLI Social Programme is another important part of the MLI course. The activities and excursions included complement the academic programme and encourage the students to mix together and continue to improve their English.

Designed with juniors and teenagers in mind, we choose activities and excursions that will enhance the student experience, help them learn about and experience local culture, maximise their English skills, but also have FUN!

There are activities running on and off-site almost every afternoon and evening. We schedule a range of different options so there is something for everyone – sports, scavenger hunt, fashion show, disco, quiz night etc – as well as local cultural visits.

We also run a fun and interesting excursion programme which includes half-day and full-day excursions to famous places of interest.

MLI Activity Leaders are our guides during these excursions and will tell students about the history and some stories about the locations they are visiting. They also make sure that everyone is safe and having a great time!
