• Team Composition Must Be Handed In By Team Manager When Pontoon Draw Position Is Selected
• Final Team Composition Change Must Be Made At The Athletes Lounge From 05:00 To 05:15 On Sunday Morning. Coaches Can Communicate A Different Team Composition To Head Referee.
• Head Referee Will Be Located At The Athletes Lounge.

Please Refer To Clause 5.2 In ITU Competition Rules • Handle Bars With Clip-Ons • Wheels (Non Authorised UCI Wheels Rule) • Spare Wheels • Bike Frame • Helmet Check • Technology Fraud • Spare Wheels To Be Labelled & Checked In. It Will Collected At Bike Check And
Returned To Athletes Lounge.

• Saddle Position (-5cm ≤ Men & -2cm ≤ Women) Random 25% – Approved Exceptions On ITU Website – http://www.triathlon.org/about/downloads/category/rules
• Approval For The Addition/Modification Of Any Equipment To The Bike, MUST Be Obtained From The Head Referee Up Until 10 Minutes From The End Of This Athlete’s Briefing
Check In Procedures Athletes’ Lounge
• All Team Members Must Check In Together.
• Uniform And Race Gear Check (Name, Country, Logos, Zippers, Race And
Podium Caps) - Photos Taken Of Each Uniform.
– Wearing Other Uniform During The Race = DSQ!
• Body Marking Check (Both Arms, Both Legs).
Check In Procedure Timing Chips Distribution & Swim Cap Distribution
• Athletes Will Receive 2 Timing Chips, One For Each ankle.
• 1st Athlete Will Receive In The Athletes Lounge.
• 2nd, 3th & 4th Team Member Will Collect The Timing Chip & Swim Cap At The
Relay Zone.
• Athletes Wishing To Wear A Swim Cap Under The Official Cap Must Bring It For
Inspection At The Check In (Only Plain Non-Branded Caps Are Allowed).
• Leave Bags In The Athletes’ Lounge.
Check In Procedures Transition Area • Helmet - Do Not Leave Helmet Straps Fastened In Transition.
– The Athlete Who Misses To Comply With This Rule Will Receive A Time Penalty Of 10 Seconds In TA1.
• Helmet On Bike. • The Bike Must Be Racked In The First Transition By The Rear Wheel And In The
Second Transition By Either Wheel. • Water Bottles Must Be Totally Unbranded.
• Running Shoes To Be Outside Of Your Box.

• All Team Members Must Check In Together • The 4th Team Member To Leave Their Bike Closer To The Mount Line • To Add Any Equipment To The Bike, You Must Obtain Approval From The Head
Referee Until 10 Minutes After The End Of The Coaches‘ Briefing.
Warm Up • You Will Be Allowed To Warm Up On The Full Swim Course Until 10 Minutes
Prior To Swim Warm Up Closing. Then Only In The Swim Exit Area Until Swim Course Is Closed.
• Bike & Run Warm Up Will Be On The Entire Course Until 15 Minutes Prior To The Close Of The Warm Up. Then Along The Road Between Two T Junctions Where The Penalty Box Is Located.
• Only Bike On Bike Course. No Bike On The Run Course.
Pre-Start Procedure
Athletes’ Introduction
• 20 Minutes Before Your Start, Line Up At The Beginning of the Transition Area.
• TO Will Escort The Team To The Beginning of the Transition Area For Athletes’
Introduction
• The Entire Team Will Be Introduced Together.
Pre-Start Procedure Athletes’ Introduction
• When Introduce, All Athletes Will Go Along The Transition Area And Towards
The Swim Area.
• First Athlete, Jog To The Swim Start Platform.
• 2nd, 3rd, 4th Athlete Will Proceed To The Relay Zone.
• Take Your Position And Stay Behind The Pre Start Line.
• Blocking Two Positions Will Immediately DSQ.

Run • 1 Lap of 1.95 km, 1.86 km To Finish

• 1 Laps (Total Distance Of 300 m) - Clockwise • Distance To The First Turn Buoy 125 m • Pass All Buoys On The Right Shoulder Except The Last Sight Buoy On Left • Swim Behavior Will Be Closely Monitored And Recorded • Take Swim Cap, Goggles To Transition And Place Into The Box
Start Procedure Athletes In Position: • The Start Can Be Given Any Time The Head Referee Announces “On Your
Mark” • Air Horn Blast
• The Race Starts • Athletes Not Moving Forward At The Start Will Receive A Time Penalty Of 10
Seconds In TA1.
Delayed Start Athletes • Athletes Will Move Forward On The Call Of The Designated Technical Official.
False Start Procedure
False Start With Many Athletes:
• Several Horn Blasts • Water Safety In Front Of You • Everyone Goes Back To His Or Her Original Start Spot
Valid Start But With Early Starters:
• If Someone Starts Before The Horn And Everyone Else Starts With The Horn, The False Starter Will Receive A Time Penalty Of 10 Seconds In TA1 During Which The Athlete Cannot Touch Any Of Their Equipment
Swim Conduct Definition Of Clause 4.1 Of ITU Competition Rule
E) Athlete May Sportingly Maintain Their Own Space In The Water: (i) Where Athletes Make Accidental Contact In The Swim And Then Immediately
Afterward Move Apart, No Penalty Will Be Incurred;
(iii) Where Athletes Make Contact In The Swim, And An Athlete Continue To Impede The Progress Of The Other Athlete Without Moving Apart, This Action Will Result In Time Penalty;
(iv) Where athletes deliberately target another athlete to impede their progress, gain unfair advantage and potentially cause harm will result in disqualification and may be reported to ITU Arbitration Tribunal for potential suspension or expulsion.
Swim Conduct Definition Of Clause 4.1 Of ITU Competition Rule
• There Will Be Additional Boats And Technical Officials Deployed On The Swim Course To Monitor Athletes’ Behavior In This Respect.
• Infringement Will Be Recorded And Appropriate Action Will Be Taken Dependent On The Rule Of Definition From The Previous Slide.

Please Refer To Clause 6.3 Of ITU Competition Rules On Safety Guidelines:
• The Responsibility Of Remaining On The Course Rests With The Athlete. Any Athlete, Who Appears To Technical Officials Or Medical Personnel As Presenting A Danger To Themselves Or Others, May Be Removed From The Competition.
Relay Zone
Relay Zone • Prior To The Relay Exchange, The Athletes Will Wait In The Relay Check-in
Zone Until The Moment When The Technical Official Tells Them To Enter The Relay Zone.
• Athletes Need To Be Present At The Check In Area.
• It Is Athletes’ Responsibility To Be There And To Collect Timing Chips Ready For Change Over.
• The Relay Exchange From One Team Member To Another Will Take Place Inside The (Relay Zone)
Relay Zone • The Relay Exchange Is Completed By The Incoming Athlete, Using Their Hand
To Contact The Body Of The Out-going Athlete Within The Relay Zone.
• If The Contact Occurs Outside The Relay Zone, Both Athletes Must Return To The Relay Zone And Complete The Exchange Properly.
• If The Exchange Is Not Completed Inside The Relay Zone, The Team Will Get A 10 Second Penalty.
• Keep Both Feet Behind The Relay Line.

• Start Infringements Will Be Served In T1
• Swim, T1, Bike, T2 And Run Infringements Will Be Served In Run Penalty Box
• Transitions Will Be Video Recorded For Infringements
• Location: About 300 m Before Entering The Finish Chute
• Information: White Board To Show Race Number And Alphabets To Indicate Violations (Continue Next Page)
Run Penalty Box • Procedure: 10 Second Time Penalty Served On Any Lap Of The Run
• Athletes Who Are Given A Time Penalty Have The Option To Decide Whether To Stop At The Penalty Box And Serve The Penalty Or Continue To The Finish.
• Not Stopping Will Result In DSQ On Crossing The Finish Line. The Athlete May Then Appeal The Penalty. Evidence Will Only Be Made Available If An Appeal Is Filed.
• If The Athlete Decide To Stop, This Means He or She Is Accepting The Penalty And No Protest Can Be Filed.

Post Race Procedure • Photo-Finish. • Top 3 Team
– Team Member 1,2 & 3 May Wait Near The Recovery Area To Be Able To Celebrate When The Final Team Member Crosses The Line.
– TV & Flash Interview. – Athletes Will Change Into Podium Uniform In Athletes Change Area Or
Recovery. Athletes Will Then Wait In Recovery Till Called For Ceremonies. • No Congestion In The Finish Area • No Flags Or Ambush Marketing On The Podium. • No Equipment or Accessories May Be Taken By The Athlete To The Podium. • Medal Ceremony or Media Interview Areas, Unless Worn (For Example, Shoes)
and Overtly Commercial Items Shall Not Be Permitted • Time For Medal Ceremony at 09:45

Anti-Doping Control
• Photo ID & Passport Is Needed For Every Athlete To Go For Testing.
Team Medical Access
• Team Medical Will Be Allowed To Enter The Medical Tent After Permission From ITU Medical Delegate.

• Athletes Must Wear Accreditation Around The Venue.
• Inform Medical Delegate Of Any Athlete Medical Conditions/Allergies.
