Grade FourMixed Media Self-Portrait with Collage

Hello Fourth Graders!I hope you are all staying healthy and enjoying your time away from school!

To continue with our practice of making your self-portraits, I’d like you all to try this fun project at HOME! Be adventurous and creative!

Use a heavy weight paper, like poster board. The paper should be about 11 X 14”, but you can use any size you’d like. Look in a mirror and draw your head and shoulders lightly with pencil to fill most of the paper. Color your self-portrait with crayons, markers, colored pencils and/or paint.

Create a background space by drawing land and sky or add words and images that tell us something about your personality. What do you like to do in your spare time? Are you an artist, an athlete, a gamer, a scientist or inventor? Do you love animals, reading, bike riding or going on adventures? Use your imagination! Cut images and words from magazines, or draw/write them all yourself! This is your way to tell a story about who you are. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
