Overview

The purpose of this document is to provide the “All Purpose View” of Mitel Integration/Interoperability Certifications for third-party partner products, services and solutions. This includes integration test results and certification information for:

Service providers, endpoints, gateways, firewalls, applications, SIP Servers, and application servers.

3PP solutions that use proprietary Mitel API’s and protocols (e.g., MiTAI, OAI, SRC)

Other Mitel-integrated or interoperable solutions.

Video device integration solutions

If a desired Mitel Integration/Interoperability Certification is not listed herein, please contact your Mitel Account Executive for information regarding the Mitel process for requesting that a new interop activity be initiated.

Please reference “Interop Process Overview”, document number 10-4940-00126 for additional information regarding the Mitel interop certification process.

Disclaimer: Although Mitel has attempted to configure interop testing and certification activities as closely as possible to a customer premise environment, implementation details onsite may still differ from tested/certified configurations. YOU MUST EXERCISE YOUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE in reviewing, planning, implementing, and testing a customer configuration, including assessing the implications of any differences between the customer configuration and those certified by Mitel.

Technical Reference Guide

2

Interop Certification Version Considerations

Any assertion of compatibility regardless of the type, applies only to the specific product/service versions actually tested. There is no implied future or backward compatibility associated with the Interop. This means that as versions of software and firmware from either party change and differs from those tested, there is an ever-increasing risk that the Interop will fail to remain successful.

Document Legend

The following shows the different icons used to help describe and clarify an Interop

Indicates that all test cases executed in this section passed successfully. No known issues

Indicates that some test cases failed and you should refer to the Configuration Guide to see if any of the limitations will affect your deployment

Indicates this section of the testing failed and you should refer to the Configuration Guide for a list of limitations

Pass/Executed/Total

Shows the number of test cases that passed compared to the number of test cases executed compared to the total number of test cases available in the test plan. The difference between the number of Pass/Executed could be the result of failed or blocked test cases. The difference between the number of Executed/Total could be from functionality that is not supported, not available or not required. In addition the difference could be the result of availability of equipment or applications during testing.

MAT: Mitel Approved Test certification. See definition in Appendix A

MQT: Mitel Qualified Test certification. See definition in Appendix A

MCT: Mitel Compatible Test certification. See definition in Appendix A

SAT: Self-Assessment Tested. See definition in Appendix A

Field Assessed. See definition in Appendix A

Mitel Solutions Alliance Gold Preferred Member. See definition in Appendix A

Mitel Solutions Alliance Preferred Member. See definition in Appendix A

Mitel Solutions Alliance Developer Member. See definition in Appendix A

Interop is classified as current and update to date.

Interop is classified as stale as it’s been more than 18 months since last MCT/MAT certification, more than 12 months since last evidence of SAT update, or more than N-1 releases since last evidence of SAT update.

Interop is classified as obsolete as it’s been more than 36 months since last MCT/MAT certification, more than 24 months since last evidence of SAT update, more than N-2 releases since last MCT/MAT certification, or evidence of interop-related field support issues.

Mitel Interop Certification Levels

The following describes the certification levels that Mitel applies to 3PP products and services.

“Mitel-Approved Test” (MAT) Certification.

Applies only for MSA Gold Preferred member products/services (i.e., 3PP solutions resold by Mitel). MAT certification utilizes a Mitel-approved testplan for the product/service category, which may be customized as necessary for the specific member product/service. MAT involves testing and/or validation by Mitel of the interface points between the Mitel platform and 3PP product/service, and may also include select evaluation of functional capabilities and documentation. Any limitations identified during the testing are documented in a formal test report and/or Mitel Config Guide. Nonetheless, it is the responsibility of the 3PP and the Mitel channel partner to ensure that they understand the extent of the Mitel testing and that they determine whether the documented/known issues will impact their specific customer deployment. MAT is reserved for key strategic components of the Mitel 3PP portfolio for which Mitel assumes a significant degree of responsibility for support, often acting as the interface between the customer and the 3PP as necessary.

“Mitel-Qualified Test” (MQT) Certification”

Applies for various types of MSA member products/services, where a Mitel regional sales organization and the MSA member have mutually agreed to pursue Mitel certification in support of joint business opportunities. MQT certification is an assertion made by Mitel that Mitel has executed a standard interop test plan for the product/service category, and determined that the interop was sufficiently successful to deploy the solution at a customer site, subject in some cases to certain restrictions or limitations. Any such restrictions or limitations identified during the testing are documented in a formal test report and/or Mitel Config Guide. An MQT designation does not in any way imply that all functionality of the MSA member product/service has been tested. Nor does it imply that there are no known issues related to the interop. It is the responsibility of the MSA member and the Mitel channel partner to ensure that they understand the extent of the Mitel testing and that they determine whether the documented/known issues will impact their specific customer deployment. Support for the integrated solution will be provided jointly by the sponsoring regional Mitel sales organization and the MSA member – please refer to the Mitel Config Guide for further information.

“Mitel-Compatible Test” (MCT) Certification.

Applies for MSA Developer and MSA Preferred member products/services, where the MSA member has optionally elected to pursue Mitel certification, as well as for certain other 3PP products/services where Mitel unilaterally elects to certify interoperability. MCT certification is an assertion made by Mitel that Mitel has executed a standard interop test plan for the

Technical Reference Guide

47

product/service category, and determined that the interop was sufficiently successful to declare MCT certification. Any limitations identified during the testing are documented in a formal test report and/or Mitel Config Guide. An MCT designation does not in any way imply that all functionality of the 3PP product/service has been tested. Nor does it imply that there are no known issues related to the interop. It is the responsibility of the 3PP and the Mitel channel partner to ensure that they understand the extent of the Mitel testing and that they determine whether the documented/known issues will impact their specific customer deployment. Mitel Product Support will provide support assistance related to the interop, but issues unique or specific to the 3PP will be referred to the 3PP as appropriate.

“Self-Assessment Test” (SAT) Certification.

Denotes that the 3PP provider of the product/service has performed the interop testing they deem necessary to interoperate successfully with the Mitel platform, and has asserted to Mitel that the interop was successful. While the 3PP may provide interop documentation to Mitel for informal review and archiving, Mitel does not formally review or approve the 3PP SAT results. Completion of SAT is generally a prerequisite for a 3PP to pursue MCT or MAT certification activities with Mitel. All support requests related to the SAT interop are referred by Mitel Product Support directly to the 3PP, as they are the ones making the assertion of compatibility, not Mitel.

For informational purposes only, field-assessed means that the product/service has been reported to have been tested and/or used successfully in the field, though available details of such testing may be limited or vary widely. Mitel Product Support does NOT apply to field-assessed interops.

Mitel Solutions Alliance Membership (MSA) Levels

MSA is a comprehensive program enabling a wide range of 3PPs to successfully create products and services that integrate and/or interoperate with Mitel’s core business communications portfolio. It also aids in creating awareness of these products and services among Mitel retail channel sales partners and end customers. Through MSA, Mitel builds alliances with those 3PPs that share and complement our market vision, and can help us implement it rapidly and successfully. By joining MSA, 3PP members gain access to Mitel development tools, support, test resources, and marketing channels needed to deliver quality integrated solutions to Mitel customers. MSA offers the following primary membership levels.

This level is the entry point into the MSA program for all members, enabling both the Mitel vendor partner ecology as well as end-customer integration projects.

For vendors and other partners whose products, solutions or services are resold by Mitel. They require and existing Developer membership, and sponsorship by one or more Mitel stakeholders, and receive all MSA Developer benefits, plus additional benefits including greater channel visibility. Because products from these partners are sold and supported by Mitel into our channel sales organizations, additional business and technical requirements apply, as determined by the internal Mitel sponsor.

Members at this level bring strategic or specialized value to Mitel. They require an existing Developer membership, and sponsorship by one or more Mitel stakeholders, and receive all Developer Partner benefits plus additional benefits including extensive collaboration and go-to-market support from Mitel Product Line Management.
