m 4. Create your University computer account Go to https://my.missouristate.edu and select “Get an

account” to create a University computer account. This will give you access to:

• Yourcampusportal(MyMissouriState),whereyou can register for classes, check your grades, access your email, visit Blackboard and much more

• Computerlabsoncampus

• WirelessInternetoncampus

You may also register in person at the office of the registrar, located in Carrington Hall room 320. To register in person, you must have a Registration/Change of Schedule Form completed and signed by your advisor. This form can be found online at www.missouristate.edu/registrar/forms.htm and is also available in the office of the registrar.

m 6. Submit your final transcript If you have not provided the Graduate College with a final

official transcript which shows you have been awarded a bachelor’s degree, please do so as soon as possible. Your admission will be considered pending, and holds may be placed on your account preventing you from registering for classes until the Graduate College receives your transcript.*

NOTE: Transcripts are not considered official unless received directly from the institution where the coursework was completed.

*Students who received their bachelor’s degree from Missouri State are exempt from this requirement.

m 7. Obtain a BearPass Card (student ID card) Your BearPass Card (student ID card) gives you access to

numerous entities of the University, such as the library, bookstore, athletic events, dining centers and vending machines. You will have an opportunity to obtain a BearPass Card at the graduate student orientation, or you may stop by the BearPass Card Office located in the Plaster Student Union room 128. m 8. Purchase a parking permit If you will be using University parking facilities and

lots, you must obtain a parking permit. You will have an opportunity to purchase a permit at the graduate student orientation, or you may stop by the Parking Administration Office at 700 E. Elm St. For more information, visit www.missouristate.edu/safetran/ or call 417-836-4825.

Graduate College checklistm 1. RSVP for graduate student orientation Graduate student orientation will provide invaluable

information about being a graduate student at Missouri State. All new graduate students are encouraged to attend. Visit http://graduate.missouristate.edu/orientations.htm for more information.

m 2. Contact your academic advisor Your advisor will be able to answer any questions you have

regarding your program, registration or any conditions that may have been placed on your admission. Your advisor will also release you to register for classes.

Your advisor’s name and contact information can be found at the bottom of the Graduate Admission Recommendation form you received with your admission letter.

m 3. Memorize your BearPass number (student ID number) Included in your admission letter is a nine-digit student

number, also known as your BearPass number. This is your student ID number and you will need it to register for classes, for financial aid needs and any other business you conduct with the University; therefore, it is important you memorize this number. You will also need your BearPass number to create your University computer account.
