    INTRODUCTION

    A. We have been enlisted in an ambitious mission to win the world for Christ.

We are now carrying this mission to hostile territories. The mission will take allthat we have. This is our call. Our personal fulllment and happiness are tiedup in our responding to the call of the ord. We will never be contented livinga mediocre life. We are in a life and death struggle to save the world and thefuture of our children. We need to go for total victory. As long as there is war!poverty! families breaking up and a world of grave in"ustices! we will not stopthe battle.

#. We never loose sight of the fact that we have a victorious $od. %e promisedthat %e would win the battle. %e is our captain. %e enlists us for life. We aresoldiers for the ord and our children and their children will ght the samebattle with us.

    C. &ote the title of the talk! 'The %eart of a (oldier). '%eart) is a key word. Weare an army at war. An army in good shape and we want our heart to be ingood shape. The attitudes of the heart of a true soldier can be seen in somekey warriors of the bible.

Only 3oshua with Caleb focused on the promise of $od not on thefears of the giants in the land. %e chose to trust $od and push on with themission.
