Rev. Charles E. Franklin, M.Div. Reverend Charles Franklin hails from Forrest City, Arkansas where he graduated from

Lincoln Senior High School in 1969. He joined the United States Air Force in 1970 and

completed 30 years of military service in August 2000; achieving the highest enlisted

rank of Chief Master Sergeant while garnering a Bachelor of Science degree in

Professional Aviation.

Reverend Franklin was saved at the tender age of 10 years old. At age 31, he

surrendered to the call of God for the work of the ministry. Trained by God’s Anointed

Servants for eight years, he was subsequently ordained in May 1992 by the Central

Louisiana Ministers Alliance and served as an Associate Minister of the Saint Matthew

Baptist Church of Alexander, Louisiana.

Reverend Franklin is a born again, spirit-filled disciple and servant of Jesus Christ

who is intent to do God’s will of making disciples. He is a recipient of the Master of

Divinity Degree from Shaw University Divinity School in Raleigh and near completion

of a Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla,

Georgia. He has served the Goldsboro Community since 1993 as an Associate Minister at

the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Associate Pastor of the Best Grove Missionary

Baptist Church. He is currently the Pastor of the Atkinson Chapel Missionary Baptist

Church; serving since August 2005 and Director of Christian Education since 2007 for

the Bear Creek Association of Churches; where he was the first Site Director and major

developer of the Association’s first theologically based Leadership Academy in 2003.

Reverend Franklin is married to the former Miss Jessie M. Smith also from Forrest

City, Arkansas. Together since childhood, they will soon celebrate their 45th wedding

anniversary. They have three children: Charlotte, Charles Jr., and Mario; three

grandchildren: Corey, Phoenix and Dorian; and two Godchildren: Joseph and Jaila Piper.

Rev. Winford Galmon, M.Div. Family Background Pastor Winford Galmon Jr. is the third child and only son of four children born to Mrs. Cora Dawkins

Galmon and the late Reverend Winford Galmon Sr. of Charlotte NC (formerly of Gaffney SC). He is married to the

former Patricia Ann Baldwin.

Education

Pastor Galmon is a scholar of the Charlotte Mecklenburg County Public School System and a graduate of

Myers Park High School. He furthered his education by attending the Columbus College of Art and Design, located

in Columbus OH., on a four year scholarship. Upon receiving his B.F.A degree from CCAD, Pastor Galmon became

well known across the country for his talent as an artist. Numerous charities showcase and used his paintings to help

raise monies for those in need. Pastor Galmon was known as the official artist of the then NBA Charlotte Hornets.

He saw a need to pursue religious training because God had another calling on his life. He received his Master of

Divinity degree in Fall 2009 from Hood Theological Seminary, Salisbury, North Carolina. Pastor Galmon’s desire is

to pursue his Doctor of Ministry degree in the year 2018.

Ministerial Background

Pastor Galmon acknowledged his call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 2005 at Greater Galilee

Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC. Under the current leadership of Pastor Robert E. Lee McGowens, Sr., Pastor

Galmon was licensed by the Greater Galilee Baptist Church on January 22, 2006 and ordained by the Mt. Peace

Baptist Association on September 27, 2006. In March 2011, Pastor Galmon was called as Pastor of Mount Calvary

Missionary Baptist Church, Goldsboro, NC. Pastor Galmon also taught Ministers in Training classes, Bible School

classes, Leadership and Youth Empowerment conferences.

Rev. Malcom Lewis, A.Th.Pastor Malcom Emmanuel Lewis, the son of the late Addie and Pearly Lewis, was born August 5, 1960,

in Currie, North Carolina. He is the youngest of seven children. He is married to the former Lois Diggs.

They have two sons, Marques and Mallik, four daughters, Mary, Maria, Shawntell, and Diana; and eleven

grandchildren. The family resides in Rocky Mount, NC and is employed at Hospira, a Pfizer Company.

Rev. Lewis is a graduate of Pender High School in Burgaw, North Carolina and Cape Fear Community

College; Wilmington, North Carolina. He has attended various seminary courses through the Middle

District Missionary Baptist Association and other State and National Organizations.

Rev. Lewis is a product of Canetuck Missionary Baptist Church; Currie, North Carolina. He accepted

Christ as Savior in 1968. He accepted the call to ministry in 1980 and was licensed to preach the gospel

in 1981. He was ordained by the Middle District Missionary Baptist Association.

Pastor Lewis accepted the call to pastor Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Macclesfield, NC,

and St. Stephen’s Missionary Baptist Church, Goldsboro, NC in April of 2014. Pastor Lewis encourages

and seeks the involvement of the total church family, in the church program. He strongly supports

Missions. As, a mission project he coordinated and along with the Church Families sponsored the

Medical and Dental Bus of the Baptist Men of North Carolina, which provides free health and dental care

to churches and communities.

Pastor Lewis previously served as pastor of First Baptist Southport located in Southport, North Carolina

and St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Wilmington, North Carolina.

Rev. Alexander Herring, S.U. Reverend Alexander B. Herring is a native of Watha, North

Carolina. He is the youngest of five children born to the late Mr. James T.

Herring, Sr. and the late Mrs. Alice B. Herring. Reverend

Herring received his education in the Pender County public school

system and Shaw University in Raleigh, NC.

In his twenty years of pastoral ministry, Pastor Herring has received

numerous awards and recognitions, however he says that none will

compare to one striving to receive, “The Crown of Righteousness”. He

currently serves as the proud Senior Pastor of the Mount Pleasant Baptist

Church, Goldsboro, NC.

Pastor Herring concurs that the blessings of God have been bountiful

upon his life and the lives of his family. The most precious of these gifts

to him are his two beautiful children, Destini Addia and Kyle Alexander.

Moderator Joe A. Jackson, M.Div.

Rev. Jackson was born January 3rd in Cairo, Illinois. He is one of nine children born to the late Carl and

Barbara Jackson. He has attended the following schools for Religious Education. Louisiana Baptist

College, Pineville, La., North Carolina Wesleyan College, Rocky Mount, NC., and received a Bachelor of

Science Degree in Church Ministries from Mount Olive College, Mount Olive, NC, on May 10, 2003. He

has earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Campbell University Divinity School in May 2014.

Rev. Jackson presently serves as Pastor of Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Goldsboro, NC, the

Recording Secretary for the Moderator’s Auxiliary of the Southeast Region, National Baptist Convention,

USA, Inc. He is the Former President of the North Carolina General Baptist State Convention Minister’s

Council, the 1st Vice-Moderator of the Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association, an Instructor for the

Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Academy, an active member in CLIFF Ministerial Organization, Concerned

Clergy of Goldsboro, the NAACP, a Volunteer Associate Chaplain at Wayne Memorial Hospital, a member

of the Pastoral Supervision & Psychotherapy and former Chaplain of the Wilson V. Eagleson Chapter of

the Tuskegee Airman, a member of the local chapter of the DAV, a member of the Blue Ribbon

Commission, and was a member of Friends of Wayne County RSVP Advisor Board.

Rev. Jackson was elected Moderator of Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association, Inc., October 9, 2015

for a four year term.
