COMPONENTS OF MISSION STATEMENT

CUSTOMER 

The first component is customer which is the most important aspect of any company. They are

targeting their customer and providing them with the best and highest quality products and

services. But they have not identified the type of customer or market they are targeting in their 

mission statement.

PRODUCT OR SEVICES

This is the second component of mission which is highlighted in PAKISTAN STATE OIL’smission. That is they are providing the chief quality petroleum products and services.

MARKET

This is the third component. Market is also most important part for any company’s mission

statement. PAKISTAN STATE OIL has highlighted that they are committed to leadership in

Energy Market through competitive advantage in providing the highest quality petroleum

 products and services.

TECHNOLOGY

The forth part is technology which is not included in the mission statement of PAKISTAN

STATE OIL. They can add this to their mission further they can also add how the new our 

existing product line will undergo the technology.

CONCERN FOR SURVIVAL GROWTH AND PROFITABILITY

This is the fifth part which is present in the PAKISTAN STATE OIL’s mission statement. They

are providing high quality based on lowest cost operations and assured access to long-term and

cost effective supply sources and they have sustained growth in earnings in real terms.

This is the sixth aspect of mission and it says that company holds its people above operations.

Philosophy is also there in PSO’s mission statement. They hire professionally trained, high

quality, motivated workforce, working as a team in an environment, which recognizes and

rewards performance, innovation and creativity, and provides for personal growth and

development. Besides this they are highly ethical, safe environment friendly and socially

responsible business practices.

SELF CONCEPT

This is the seventh part of mission statement which is also present in PSO’s mission statement.

They hire professionally trained individuals plus they also provide highest quality based on

lowest cost operations.

CONCERN FOR PUBLIC IMAGE

This is the eighth part of the component which is present in PSO’s mission statement. They have

highly ethical, safe environment friendly and socially responsible business practices.

CONCERN FOR EMPLOYEES

This is the last component of mission statement. PSO recognizes and rewards performance,

innovation and creativity, and provides for personal growth and development of their employees.

Ensuring cost-effective measures in procurement and operations.

Developing Safety Culture.

COMPONENTS OF MISSION STATEMENT

CUSTOMER 

This is the most important aspect which is unfortunately absent in PAKISTAN

INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE’S mission statement. They have highlighted that they are offering

quality customer services but what is the type of customer or market is not present and how they

earn their customer loyalty is also lacking.

PRODUCT OR SEVICES

Product part is covered in their vision and mission. They want to be the world class and global

airline meeting customer expectations.

MARKET

This is the third and most important component. Market information is not covered in

PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE’S mission statement. They need to add this part; this

would make their mission statement more impressive. They can also add the areas where they

have competitive edge.

TECHNOLOGY

The forth part is technology which is present in PIA’s mission statement. They are using state-of-

the-art technologies to come up with good results.

CONCERN FOR SURVIVAL GROWTH AND PROFITABILITY

This is the fifth part which is present in the PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE’S

mission statement. They are ensuring cost-effective measures in procurement and operations.

This is the eighth part of the component which PIA has covered through Developing Safety

Culture. But they can further add that they would work as an economic strength of society and

would become a good corporate citizen.

CONCERN FOR EMPLOYEES

This is the last component which they have not covered in their mission statement but they have

added that employees will be encouraged for team work. PIA should add to their mission

statement that how the employees would be motivated, what would be the reward structure and

working conditions, fringe benefits etc.
