Live the Liturgy—Inspiration for the Week Our relationships often need reconciling and healing. While it is easy to say, it is often difficult to

achieve. Sometimes, reconciling requires that we take down the barriers that are sources of division,

remove our prejudices, look beyond differences, and see the "sameness" that connects us one to another.

Of course, each party has to be willing to do this in order for healing to occur. Our Gospel shows us the

healing that can occur when both parties are willing participants.

On Sunday, August 27 we will celebrate the Feast Day of Our

Lady of Częstochowa during the 11:00 a.m. Mass.

20th Sunday in Ordinary Time In today’s Gospel Jesus' attitude toward the woman may

seem somewhat harsh. But the situation that existed at the time of

the incident was such that the Jews had a problem with accepting

outsiders into their temple. This attitude existed because the Jews

felt that they were the only ones deserving of God's favor. The

woman in today's gospel knew that she was in an excluded group,

but her love and concern for her ailing daughter drove her to

challenge the cultural thinking of the Jewish people.

In our times, who do we exclude from our worship space,

from our Christian community? The divorced or re-married? The

smokers or the overweight? The underdressed? Those whose last

names we can't pronounce? Those whose politics we can't

accept? Like the woman in the Gospel, all of these are crying out

for help. Do we turn them away? Or like Jesus do we include

them in our prayers and invite them into our church to pray with

us? If we lived in different times would we have been excluded

from Jesus' mission and perhaps even the promise of the

Kingdom of God and Eternal Life. Aren't we glad He included us

among God's people? Shouldn't we follow in His footsteps? All

we need is what the Cananite woman had. Faith!

Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary On August 15th we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption

of the Virgin Mary. On August 22nd we are commemorating

another beautiful Marian Feast, that of the Queenship of Mary.

Let us kneel at Mary's feet today and confidently place all

our needs and concerns into the hands of our Mother, Mary the

Queen of angels and saints, Queen of Heaven and earth.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Our life, our

sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished

children of Eve, To thee do we send up our sighs, Mourning

and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious

Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, And after this our

exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O

Holy Mother of God, That we may be made worthy of the

promises of Christ. Amen.

Thank You for a Wonderful Festival !!! Every year we await our St. Stanislaus Polish Arts Festival

for a chance to host and support our Polish heritage and get

together with the whole community. I would like to thank God’s

Providence for a successful festival and that despite somewhat

challenging weather, we were able to meet as a community once

against this year.

A word of thanks to the Festival Committee, especially Jan

Vorndran and Mike Bidzerkowny (Co-chairpersons) for

organizing this great event. I would also like to express my

gratitude to all the sponsors.

My appreciation goes out to the honorary kitchen director

Mrs. Ludwika Kardela and all the volunteers who worked

tirelessly for many days in the kitchen making pierogi, gołąbki,

preparation of cabbage, baking desserts and all other delicious

specialties. My sincere thanks to the teams preparing food: frying

potato pancakes, hots & hamburgers, baking desserts and serving

drinks.

Thank you to all who came and help set up and take down

the booths and lighting as well as help tidy up our property before

and after this big event. God bless all the volunteers for their hard

work and time devoted to this project. Words of appreciation

toward all who were involved with the sale of the raffle tickets

prior to and during the festival, as well as money counters and

teams in charge of various gaming activities on both days.

Thank you for those who organized tours of our beautiful

church, and to all the men and women and especially for our

youth for their involvement during this very active time of the

festival. I am grateful to all the staff of the parish for their work,

time and devotion to this annual event.

Lastly, I would like to thank the team who planted flowers

around our church beautifying our property.

I would like invite all of you to the post festival meeting on

August 30th, 2017 (Wednesday) @ 6:30 pm in the auditorium. I hope you can find time to share your joys and thoughts of

improvement for the festivals in the years to come.

May God Bless you! With loving prayers,

Your Pastor, Fr. Roman

XX Niedziela Zwykla Bóg nieustannie gromadzi swój lud, aby na calej ziemi składał Mu

ofiarę czystą. On od wieków wybrał naród izraelski i w ciągu dziejów

otaczał go swoją opieką. Ale prorok zapowiada, iż Pan obdarzy swymi

darami także pogan. Uzdrowienie córki kobiety kananejskiej jest

wypełnieniem tych właśnie obietnic oraz zaproszeniem wszystkich

ludzi do wspólnoty wierzących w ofiarowane przez Boga zbawienie.

Jezus podziwia wiar kobiety kananejskiej. Jednak nie można

omijać jej beznadziejnej sytuacji. Zapewnie wcześniej szukała ratunku

u różnych uzdrowicieli. To jest dla niej ostatnia szansa. Kobieta

Stańmy przed Nim w prawdzie i

pokorze, a dostąpimy Jego miłosierdzia.

Wspomnienie Najświętszej Maryi Panny Królowej
