SERVICES PROVIDED IMPACCT Brooklyn provides workshops and training in marketing, accounting and creating business plans; Offers technical and legal assistance to local business owners and entrepreneurs; Works closely with local Merchants Associations, elected officials and community organizations, as well as brokers, property owners and retailers, to retain and attract new businesses. Connected 445 entrepreneurs and small business owners with legal services and financial resources; Helps over 30 new businesses open annually and counsels at least 25 business owners each year. Assisted in the revitalization of Fulton Street and started the business improvement district, FAB Alliance. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IMPACT Eric received assistance in commercial revitalization. COMMUNITY ISSUE Lack of affordable apartments and homeownership opportunities in Brooklyn.

SERVICES PROVIDED IMPACCT Brooklyn advocates to develop and preserve affordable housing;

Develops affordable housing and works with developers to set aside affordable units in new real estate developments;

Markets affordable housing and teaches low-income residents how to apply & qualify for lottery apartments.

Developed more than 1,000 units of housing in more than 65 buildings, including multi-family apartment buildings and two to four family homes;

Facilitated more than 17 affordable housing lotteries and is working with developers to bring more than 342 affordable units to market in 2016-17.

COMMUNITY ISSUELoss of thousands of units of affordable housing leading to tenants being displaced or homeless;

Unscrupulous landlords using illegal tactics, harassment or poor housing conditions to evict tenants;

Low awareness of free legal services and advocacy services for tenants in housing court.

SERVICES PROVIDEDIMPACCT Brooklyn leads innovative campaigns that shape the city-wide housing rights movement;

Counsels and educate tenants about their rights; provides one-on-one counseling, empowers and supports tenants facing landlord harassment or illegal evictions;

Works with tenant associations and city agencies to secure repairs through code enforcement.

Empowers more than 700 people annually to challenge landlord neglect and harassment;

Prevents more than 250 families from being illegally evicted each year.

COMMUNITY ISSUEScarce opportunities to learn about the process of buying a home; Limited access to down-payment assistance;

Foreclosures remain an issue, particularly for seniors and low income residents

SERVICES PROVIDED IMPACCT Brooklyn offers workshops and mortgage counseling that guide participants step-by-step through the home financing and ownership process.

Conducts post-home-purchase workshops to help maintain homeownership and access resources;

Leads one-on-one and group counseling by HUD-certified counselors to prevent foreclosure.

Individually counsels more than 225 first-time homebuyers annually;

Facilitates more than 50 first-time homebuyer workshops, impacting more than 2,000 potential homeowners;

Saved more than 550 homes from foreclosure and secured 300 permanent mortgage modifications between 2013 and 2014.

COMMUNITY ISSUELow awareness of how poor money management affects family budget and housing choices;

Residents not able to take advantage of quality housing due to poor credit scores or financial planning, which negatively impact their applications for rentals or homeownership.

SERVICES PROVIDED IMPACCT Brooklyn provides free financial education workshops and seminars;

One-on-one counseling for debt management and credit repair.

More than 100 households annually report improved credit and debt profile;

Average client reduced debt by at least 35%;

Through counseling and assistance, residents saved between $300 – $2,000 annually, (on average.)
