Design of the missionDesign of the mission Built of adobe and tile roof. 135 feet long, 29

feet high, 35 feet wide with walls three feet thick.

The soldiers had leather jackets witch gave them the name Soldados de cuera the jacketsthem the name Soldados de cuera the jackets had eight thicknesses of deerskin or sheepskin. The soldiers wore belt across their shoulder that held gunpowder and bullets andshoulder that held gunpowder and bullets and the weapons they had were a wooden shaft with a metal tip, a broadsword, and a flintlock musket. Even though the soldiers were suppose to protect the padres the padres had no control.

Mission today

the mission has been restored and now more than 2,000 people go to the church a week.

they still use the church and the mission attracts more tourist than any other hi t i l it i C lif ihistorical site in California.
