The Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations Office in Geneva presents its compliments to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, namely to His Excellencies:
Mr. José Guevara, First Vice-Chair of the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention;
Mr. Heiner Bielefeldt, Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief; Dainius Puras, Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health;
Mrs. Monica Pinto, Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers;
Mr. Juan E. Méndes, Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment;
and has the honor to refer to their Joint Urgent Appeal from Special Procedures ref.
UA KWT 6/2015 dated 3 December 2015, requesting information about a number of legal cases that are being examined by the judicial authorities in the State of Kuwait regarding eight Kuwaiti nationals whose names have been cited in the mentioned appeal.
In this regard, we would like to submit the following information and comments:
