From a young age, I have always had a deep inter-est in arts of all mediums, however fine art and illustration has continued to be my main passion.

Growing up in the church and a Christian fam-ily, I always knew that God wanted me to use my art for something greater then my own amusement or personal gain.

I went on my first missions trip in 2008 with my church to Papua New Guinea, and knew immediately that mis-sions was going to be a big part of my life. Before going to university, I took a practi-cal year in 2009 and after the encouragement of a close friend, decided to do a Dis-cipleship School with Youth With A Mission.

After the 6-month school was over, I felt a strong call on my life from God to enter into the mission-field full time. Over

the past 4 years, I have seen God

take me deeper in an understanding of

who He is, and have been, over and over again, a wit-ness to His power to change lives through a heart of ser-vice and the authority of art.

I have staffed two of our largest schools here, teach-ing in Fine Art, Music, Video, Photography, and Graphic Design, and lead two teams of 25 students to China for a 3-month outreach. God is constantly revealing to me His heart for every individual and the way He can use art to open any door.

I believe that creation reflects the glory of God and that we are made in His image. If we are then to be imitators of Christ, then everything we create should be a reflection of

our hearts, identity and our Creator. I strive to create art that not only reflects the heart of God, but also creates a plat-

form for Him to meet His people face to face. I want my art to start conversation and create questions that drive people

to process their identity and who God is.

I have a huge heart for teaching and discipleship and the concept of passing down wisdom and sharing knowledge

is something that has inspired me from a young age. Every-thing that I learn from leaders in my life or from the life of Jesus, I passionately and desperately want to pass on and communicate that to others. I believe that revelation must be shared, and to truly understand something you must be able to teach it. This is why I am involved in discipleship and teaching in the schools we run here, and love building rela-tionships with people to learn from and teach each other.

The following pages contain information on the organization I work for and the various ministries I am involved in.

YWAM is an international nonprofit centered on equipping and training those who want to enter the mission field. There

are over 1,100 locations in over 180 countries united by a singular intention – “to know God and to make Him known”.

The training portion of YWAM is called a Discipleship Training School (DTS). The course lasts between five or six months and is divided into two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase. During lecture, students grow deeper in

their relationship with God, study the many truths about His character, and naturally learn from each other by living in

community. After lecture, they are sent on outreach where they normally serve alongside long-term missionaries or

other local ministries, and have the opportunity to physically apply what they have learned during their lectures.

Nearly 10 years ago, YWAM in Herrnhut, Germany was founded for a vision of 3 parts: First, to send 10 000 German missionaries and 50 000 European missionaries into the na-tions to expand the kingdom of God; Secondly, to develop

excellence in the arts and use it as a tool for reaching people of all cultures with the gospel, and thirdly to focus our send-ing locations to the most impoverished and unreached areas

of the world however distant or local they are.

Since that time we have grown to be one of the largest op-erating bases in Europe and currently run the largest DTS in the world. We have expanded to 3 more locations in Florida, Asia, and our newest venture in Nuremberg, Germany. We

are constantly striving to refine our ministries and schools to not only carry a high level of excellence in all that we do, but to foster real growth and lasting change through discipleship

and obedience to God’s voice.

By far the largest DTS we have ever run, the MOTA DTS is now entering its 5th year. Previously averaging about 100 students, we are already nearing the 200 mark for applicants this year. This school is really the product of YWAM Herrn-hut’s original vision: A push to create committed missionar-ies, obedient to God’s voice, and passionate about reaching the lost through their passions and excellence in the arts.

With the rapid growth of this school, we have moved it from our tiny base of Herrnhut, to our newest location in Nurem-berg. With the city on our doorstep, students will now have the opportunity to invest in local ministry and reach a wide diversity of people with their arts throughout the lecture phase. We want outreach to not just be a 3-month portion of the school but to develop habits that make it a lifestyle, continuing far beyond the end of the DTS.

The foundation of our new-est satellite location is a professional art studio space. We believe art in its very nature creates a life-giving world for the masses to dwell in. Our first image of God was of Him crafting the sky, the land and its caretakers. In the beginning, He skillfully combined words and imag-ination to design a func-tioning, self-sustaining and holistic reality.

Following His example, we want art to be at the epicen-ter of our ministry. We want to see well-refined art that proclaims the Kingdom of a good God and proposes alternative futures, one with Christ at the very center.

Essentially, Wonderland Stu-dios will be a space for our artists to produce pieces that compete on the world stage, not merely in the context of Christian media. Another key part of our vision is to see local artists come alongside of us in the studio. We hope to build relationships and minister to those who are al-ready influencing the culture of their city and nation.
