Miss Wong’s personal experience: • Wasn’t born in a rich family • Couldn’t do what normal teenagers
could do • Couldn’t join activities which cost a lot,
e.g. cinema, karaoke, buffet, etc. • Couldn’t enroll in tuition courses like my
classmates did

Problems you may face: • Peer pressure • To gain a sense of recognition and identity • Worried how others think of you • Worried of being looked down upon• Don’t want to be different from others, be it

Self-check 1: Exam is coming. However, everyone in the class regards those who study hard are bookworms and idiots. Should I study? Self-check 2: Nobody likes Amy. She’s being bullied and isolated because she’s said to be fat and ugly. Should I follow suit and isolate her? If not, will I be the next victim?
