Dear 2018 Contestant,
Thank you for your interest in the 2018 Miss Summerville/Miss Summerville Teen & Miss North Charleston/Miss North Charleston Teen Scholarship Pageant.
We are excited to once again offer you the chance on one night to win one of two titles. The winners will go on to compete in June 2018 at the Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen pageants. We look forward to a wonderful pageant weekend of January 19-20, 2018. The pageant will be held at Freedom Hall on the campus of Pinewood Preparatory School in Summerville. It is our hope that you have an enjoyable experience.
Should you be crowned on January 20th, you will have an exciting year ahead of you. As you prepare for the state pageant, you will have opportunities to take part in community events, volunteer, mentor, and promote your service platform.
A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 6pm. This will be followed by a mandatory rehearsal for contestants to go through staging and your individual talents.
As with each pageant there are certain wardrobe requirements for our pageant. All contestants are asked to wear a black cocktail dress of your choice. You may accessorize the dress however you would like. Miss contestants will compete in private interview, lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit, talent, evening wear, and on-stage question. Miss contestants will answer their on-stage question in their black cocktail dresses from the opening number. Teens will compete in private interview, lifestyle and fitness in fitness wear, talent and evening gown. Teens are asked to wear black gym shorts for fitness wear. A tank top will be provided.
Attached you will find the first set of contestant paperwork for the Miss Summerville/Miss Summerville Teen & Miss North Charleston/Miss North Charleston Teen Pageant. The mandatory deadline for this application packet is December 30, 2017. The second deadline is Friday, January 19, 2018. Please see the included checklist for deadlines. Teen contestants are required to pay a $100 entry free. Miss contestants must raise $100 for the Children’s Miracle Network. You also have the opportunity to sell ads for our program.
