Why is a man allowed to have

more than one wife in Islam?

 

“Marry women of your choice, two, or three, or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one.”[Al-Qur’an 4:3]

Does Islam encourage polygamy?

Islam merely allows it, but does not encourage it.

He must achieve a perfect balance between his wives

Same accomodation

Same time…

Same financial support

But the question remains, even

after these restrictions and

conditions,

why does Islam allow men to

marry more than one woman?

1. Islam recognizes that men have a stronger drive to have multiple partners than women

, Islam regards polygamy as being preferable to adultery.

Polygamy protects the rights of women by giving them the full rights of a wife. Instead of being a secret "mistress" involved in an affair with a man

that the wife is not able to have children.

4... Another situation to consider is a man whose wife becomes seriously ill

 This helped in solving the problem of providing care and protection to widows and their children in peace 

to grant a divorced woman an honourable status in the society.

If the patient has gangrene in his finger….Should not we chop it off?Is this barbarism?Do you call a doctor is barbaric?....noSame way…..islamic law chops off a hand, it does so because this hand is criminal. It was chopped off so that the society would be safe.

SUPPOSE, GOD FORBID, SOMEONE RAPES YOUR WIFE,YOUR MOTHER OR YOUR SISTER. YOU ARE MADE THE JUDGE AND THE RAPIST IS BROUGHT INFRONT OF YOU. WHAT PUNISHMENT WOULD YOU GIVE HIM? ALL OF THEM SAID THEY WOULDPUT HIM TO DEATH. SOME WENT TO THE EXTENT OF SAYING THEY WOULD TORTURE HIM TODEATH. TO THEM I ASK, IF SOMEONE RAPES YOUR WIFE OR YOUR MOTHER YOU WANT TO PUTHIM TO DEATH. BUT IF THE SAME CRIME IS COMMITTED ON SOMEBODY ELSE’S WIFE ORDAUGHTER YOU SAY CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IS BARBARIC. WHY SHOULD THERE BE DOUBLESTANDARDS?

, if someone rapes your wife or your mother you want to put him to death.

But if the same crime is committed on somebody else’s wife ordaughter you say capital punishment is

barbaric.
