Miracles
By Andrew Chinn
Jesus left and turned around,
two blind men
they began to shout
Son of David,
have mercy on me,
Please heal my eyes,
that I may see
Jesus asked, “Do you believe?”,
“Oh, Yes Lord,
we believe you heal”
He touched their eyes,
they had new sight
They danced with joy,
with faith and light
They sang and danced for God above
They sang and danced for Jesus’ love
They shouted loud
their thanks and praise
For these miracles,
these signs of faith
One day Jesus came to shore, 5000 came to hear some more
At the end of the day
as darkness came
The disciples said
‘Lord turn them away’
But Jesus took two fish, five loaves,
Gave thanks to God
in heaven above
He said to them,
“there is plenty to eat, I am the shepherd, these are my sheep”
They sang and danced for God above
They sang and danced for Jesus’ love
They shouted loud
their thanks and praise
For these miracles,
these signs of faith
Martha and Mary sent news to him
Oh, Lazarus is ill, his light is dim
But Jesus stayed so they would see
He then went later, so they would believe
For the death of his friend, Jesus cried
And then he said, ‘roll the rock aside’
“Come out Lazarus!” Jesus cried
in faith he rose and walked to new life
They sang and danced for God above
They sang and danced for Jesus’ love
They shouted loud
their thanks and praise
For these miracles,
these signs of faith
After Jesus had left this world
He sent his friends to all of the Earth
As Peter and John walked past the gate
They saw the man who begged and was lame
Peter said in the name of Christ
I order you to stand, I order you to rise
Peter took his hands the lame became strong
He walked and he danced and sang Christ’s song
They sang and danced for God above
They sang and danced for Jesus’ love
They shouted loud
their thanks and praise
For these miracles,
these signs of faith© Andrew Chinn, 2007
