District Superintendent's Report

To the twenty-eighth Annual Conference of the New York Dis-

trict of the Pilgrim Holiness Church. Greetings in Jesus' name.

In the kind providence of a holy and benificient Father we are

permitted to gather in this twenty-eighth Conference.

The past year has had its shadows for all of us yet it is truly wonderful that victory is ours. We thank God for the unlimited privileges that are ours under the blessings of a great God and a free country.

The chailenge that is presented to us is greater than it has been in our day but I pray God to make this Conference the means of uniting our forces that we might better fulfill the mission that is ours.

I take this opportunity to thank God for all those in the lime. light or in the shadows, who have made their contribution to any progress that might have been made in the year that is past. Blood, sweat, and tears have always been an inseparable part of any great cause and there is no doubt if we share the fruits of victory we will have to gladly give our offering.

Our District owes a debt of gratitude to Rev. F. T. Finch for his untiring labors as editor of our "Pilgrim News." Bro. Finch has uncomplainingly devoted his time without any remuneration and it is agreed by all that he has done a fine piece of work.

Our District Home Missionary program is off to a good start. God has answered many prayers and ironed out difficulties. We have a nucleus of people in Pittsfield, Mass., as a result of the faithful labors of Rev. Donald Babcock. At this date we have purchased a large and beautiful lot in the above city and are preparing to move our tabernacle as soon as possible. A home has been leased for one year and it won't be long until Bro. Babcock will be on the field. Our radio program which was part of our Home Missionary work in Pittsfield has resulted in the salvation of one soul who is standing by the work and has been the means of placing our church before the public. I believe all of us should rejoice together that God has opened a door for us.

At this time we have another field opening where we are told there are fifteen people ready to support a clean Holiness work. If we stay spiritual and active we not only will save our own church but God will bless us with progress. If we compromise, lose the fire and glory, we will perish and the world will perish with us.

Our new pastor at Oxford has taken hold of a most difficult situation but when last there I was much encouraged with the work.

It was my privilege to dedicate a new church at Bennettsville that is a credit to our District.

The church at Russell is enjoying new and commodious quarters and has had a good revival.

Major improvements have been made on all three of our camps. At Brookdale, Sunday School rooms have been added to the rear of the church.

Brushton is in the process of erecting a new church and new places of worship are contemplated at Sayre and Binghamton.

A foundation for a parsonage has been completed at Grand Gorge.

The people at Green Grove have a nice new parsonage com-pleted and ready for their new pastor.

The District Superintendent's home has been insulated.

These many accomplishments represent a lot of hard labor and

much sacrifice and there seems to be no end of such needs.

The churches at Wells and Ogdensburg have been painted and the church at Binghamton has been redecorated both inside and out.

We have disposed of the church property at Madrid and are con-templating that the use of funds received will be devoted to the cause of District Home Missions.

I have devoted most of my time to the work of the District in the last year. I have dedicated one new church at Bennettsville and also a new Wurlitzer organ which was a gift to the Ravena Church. I have traveled over 15,000 miles, preached 130 times, conducted 2 revivals, worked several weeks on the Binghamton and Victory Grove Camps. I spent considerable time on the new portable tabernacle. I have attended three Board Meetings of the Allentown Bible Insti-tute, conducted three camps, held 17 annual meetings and one Home Missionary Rally. I have been to most churches twice and met official boards in the greater percent of our churches. I gave a little time to Grand Gorge and one week to Brushton in helping with their building.

I would express my appreciation for all who have prayed and co-operated and my sincere hope is that we may go forward.

Prospects for the future are as good as our devotedness to God and His cause.

Respectfully Submitted, 0. L. Fay
