ETP found defunct anduntreated effluent was found discharging.The committee in the meeting held on05.07.07 decided as given below"directions to concerned SDM for effectiveclosure of the unit since despite thedirections issued by the DPCC for closureof the unit, the unit is operating defyingthe directions and the unit is habitualoffender and willfull defaulter. ConcernedSDM be asked to ensure effective closureof the unit & to confirm to DPCC within 3weeks. Member Secretary DPCC, willalso write to concerned DeputyCommissioner in this regard. This matterbe brought in the meeting of committee inAugust 2007. Letters issued . Compliancereport awaited.

If he files an affidavit to thiseffect all his applications will be considered by CMC in next monthmeeting. Earlier inspection dated 29.6.04 also found majordeficiencies. Committee concurred with the recommendation of theinspecting team and ordered refusal of consent and authorization andclosure of the unit u/s 33(A) of Water Act, 1974 [invoking rule 34(6)], u/s31(A) of Air Act[invoking rule 20 A (6)], 1981 and u/s 5 of EP Act,1986[invoking rule 4(5)] and for disconnection of electricity and watersupply.
