ITEM DECISION/DISCUSSION1. Welcome The President, Clinton Cowan, opened the meeting and welcomed

attendees. Presentation re Elwood House Phase II

Leroy, Janice and James gave a brief presentation of the conceptual stage of planning for a new building for extended care at Elwood House on Braeside Ave.

4. President’s report a) Clinton reported on the Awesome Alta Vista weekend in June, the movie night and encouraged people to attend the AGM in October. He represents AVCA on theHerongate Steering Ctte. & SEOHC’s Community Relations Ctte.

5. Nomination Committee Tony Bernard requested nomination for new directors, especially for treasurer, membership and vice-president prior to the AGM Oct. 19

6. Treasurer’s Report Tony Bernard for Brian Irvine – circulated cash flow & income –expense details. We lost over $3000 on the picnic – this needs to be addressed for 2017. Brian will be stepping down as treasurer as of the AGM 2016. Any bills, etc. need to be submitted ASAP to wrap up the books for 30 September. M-Cynthia Bernolac, 2nd- Bill Davis, carried

7. Website The recommendation for domain rights was deferred for board study8. Community Partnership Award Clinton proposed that an award be established to recognize

community support for the AVCA. M-Teresa LeGrand, 2nd- David Kidd, carried. This is not necessarily an annual event and carries no financial obligations.

9. Planning and Development David Kidd summarized the ongoing planning issues for the

ITEM DECISION/DISCUSSIONassociation. Denture clinic is on hold; Coach Houses goes to Planning Ctte. Oct. 11; Randall street development is awaiting lot subdivision; Bank street redevelopment comment period is ending; Sandalwood redevelopment has raised many concerns and a public meeting is scheduled for Sept. 27 at the Jim Durrell centre.

10. City Hall – Alison Lynch for Councilor Cloutier’s office

Alison responded to questions regarding the redevelopment of Bank street and the Sandalwood redevelopment as well as road resurfacing schedules.
