1. Resumption of the sessionThe session suspended on Thursday, 19 April 2018 was resumed.

2. Opening of the sittingThe sitting opened at 13.05.

3. Statement by the PresidentThe President made a statement deploring the recent terrorist attacks and religious persecutions,carried out mainly by Islamic State and Boko Haram, which had taken place in the Philippines, theCentral African Republic, Afghanistan and Nigeria. He conveyed Parliament's condolences to thefamilies of the victims.

4. Approval of the minutes of the previous sittingThe minutes of the previous sitting were approved.

5. WelcomeOn behalf of Parliament, the President welcomed a delegation led by His Holiness, the Patriarch ofKiev and all Rus' - Ukraine Filaret, who had taken a seat in the distinguished visitors' gallery.

6. Composition of ParliamentJan Philipp Albrecht had given notice in writing of his resignation as Member of Parliament, witheffect from 3 July 2018.Pursuant to Rule 4, Parliament had established that his seat was vacant from that date and hadinformed the national authority concerned.

7. Verification of credentialsOn a proposal from the JURI Committee, Parliament validated the mandates of Ana Miranda, ElsiKatainen and Miroslavs Mitrofanovs with effect from 28 February, 1 March and 5 March 2018respectively.

8. Request for waiver of immunityThe Greek authorities had forwarded a request to waive the immunity of Georgios Kyrtsos inrelation to criminal proceedings brought against him by the Court of First Instance of Athens.

Pursuant to Rule 9(1), the request had been referred to the committee responsible, the JURICommittee.

9. Composition of committees and delegationsAt the request of the EFDD and ENF Groups and the Secretariat of the non-attached MembersGroup, Parliament had approved the following appointments:

10. Negotiations ahead of Parliament's first reading (Rule 69c)The President announced that the following committee had decided to enter into interinstitutionalnegotiations under Rule 69c (1):

- ECON Committee, on the basis of the report on the proposal for a regulation of the EuropeanParliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No 1093/2010 as regards the location ofthe seat of the European Banking Authority (COM(2017)0734 – C8-0420/2017 – 2017/0326(COD)). Rapporteurs: Burkhard Balz and Pervenche Berès (A8-0153/2018)

In accordance with Rule 69c (2), Members or political group(s) reaching at least the mediumthreshold may request in writing, before midnight on the following day (Thursday, 3 May 2018),that decisions to enter into negotiations be put to the vote.

11. Corrigenda (Rule 231)La LIBE Committee had submitted the following corrigenda to the texts adopted by the EuropeanParliament:

- Corrigendum P7_TA(2014)0212(COR01) to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the EuropeanParliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard tothe processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (OJ L 119, 4.5.2016, p. 1-88) - (position of theEuropean Parliament adopted at first reading on 12 March 2014 with a view to the adoption of theabove-mentioned Regulation P7_TA(2014)0212) (COM(2012)0011 – C7-0025/2012 – 2012/0011(COD) - LIBE Committee)

- Corrigendum P8_TA(2016)0126(COR01) to Directive (EU) 2016/680 of the European Parliamentand of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to theprocessing of personal data by competent authorities for the purposes of the prevention,investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offences or the execution of criminal penalties,and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Council Framework Decision 2008/977/JHA(OJ L 119, 4.5.2016, p. 89-131) (position of the European Parliament adopted at second reading on14 April 2016 with a view to the adoption of the above-mentioned Directive P8_TA(2016)0126)(05418/1/2016 – C8-0139/2016 – 2012/0010(COD) - LIBE Committee)

In accordance with Rule 231( 4), these corrigenda were deemed approved unless, within 24 hours, arequest was made by a political group or Members reaching at least the low threshold that they beput to the vote.

The corrigenda would be available on Europarl throughout the current part-session.

12. Request for consultation of the European Economic and SocialCommittee on (Rule 137(2))The President announced that he had received, pursuant to Rule 137(2), a request from the ENVICommittee that the European Economic and Social Committee be consulted with a view to itsdelivering an opinion on the implementation of EU environmental legislation in areas deemed tohave the most shortcomings: air quality, water and refuse.

That request for consultation of the European Economic and Social Committee would be deemed tohave been approved unless, within 24 hours, a political group or Members reaching at least the lowthreshold requested that it be put to the vote.

13. Signature of acts adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure(Rule 78)The President announced that on Thursday, 3 May 2018, together with the President of the Council,he would sign the following act adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure:

- Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU, Euratom)No 1141/2014 on the statute and funding of European political parties and European politicalfoundations (00015/2018/LEX - C8-0171/2018 - 2017/0219(COD)).
