    2. Matters arisinga. Action Plan for 2013

We propose an action plan that focuses on a cleaner, safer and friendlier Digbeth:The cleaner strand will be addressed with some DRA-organised litter picks. The saferstrand will continue to be addressed by DRA working closely with the Police in its role as aNeighbourhood Watch Scheme. Informal drop-ins for residents have been piloted on

Tuesday evenings in the Spotted Dog which forms part of the friendlier strand.

    b. Suggestions for constructive spending of DRA funds

DRA is investigating the possibility of reinstating the Welcome to Digbeth Bab mural onRea Street, putting together a map of local and nationally important pubs, as well as possiblyrunning regular tours of our area focussing on architecture, history and heritage.

    3. Update on HS2 from Jonathan Lord, Community Liaison & Stakeholder Advisor, HS2

Jonathan presented information held in the Draft Environmental Statement, which is the keydocument for HS2. A public consultation event will be held on Wednesday 12 th June from12:00-20:00 at Millennium Point; DRA encourages all our members and supporters to

respond to the consultation before 11th July 2013.The plans as they currently stand mean that Digbeth would be a key construction area for upto seven years, with the permanent loss of the Fox and Grapes pub and parts of Bordesleyand Fazeley Streets, along with the temporary closure of parts of Eastside City Park and theWoodman pub. Jonathan is happy to provide DRA with an update later in the year.

Recent restructuring in the force has increased the number of officers in the Digbethneighbourhood policing team, which is great news. To help prevent and reduce vehiclecrime, the force is currently looking at implementing bays and possible charges for parking inDigbeth.
