 Minutes from the twelfth meeting of Digbeth Residents Association (DRA) and Neighbourhood Watch on Monday 9 th  January 2012 at 6pm in the Nomad room, ground floor ZELLIG, Custard Factory. 1. Roll Call and Apologies Present: Pauline Roche, Ted Ryan, Michael Dadra, Richard Trengrouse, Gabriela Butler, Alex Lockett, Joe Holyoak, Russell Poulton, Sandra Hall, Julie Brown, Rosie Pocklington, Val Woodward, Pamela Pinski Apologies: Jayne Bradley, PC Bates, PS Wood, Jonathan Clarke, Lisa Loudon, Rob Mugglestone , Sue Ball, Jo Smith, Gary Poyner 2. Approval of Previous Minutes The minutes from the meeting held on 12 th December 2011 were approved as an accurate record of events. Matters Arising 3a. Fundraising i. We are still awaiting a response from the council regarding Community Chest funding. Ted Ryan has spoken to Councillor Yvonne Mosquito, who has informed us that a committee meeting has not yet been held, so no decisions have been made. ii. It was decided to wait before spending the money received from Reclaim Our Streets. The DRA Committee approved expenditure for a filing cabinet (£34.99), stamps and envelopes. The DRA Treasurer (appointed at the next AGM on 13 th February 2012) will be asked to propose an annual budget for DRA prior to the meeting in April. 4. Digbeth Summit Committee members present at the meeting volunteered to become facilitators for the Digbeth Summit. Our equipment needs for the summit were listed; Sandra Hall (Friction Arts) and Richard Trengrouse (South Birmingham College) offered to lend us some of the equipment for the event. A training session for Facilitators will be organised for 6pm on the 6 th February at SIFA Fireside on Allcock Street. 5. Preparation for AGM Val Woodward (Chairperson ) tabled a document of roles and responsibilities at the meeting, which was discussed with all the members present. The document will be appended onto the Constitution to be discussed and approved at the next meeting of DRA, which is the AGM. Gabi Butler offered to help by finding support for the AGM and the Summit from local businesses who can donate refreshments for both events. Michael Dadra (Nisa Local) offered to donate some food for the AGM. Thank you both! 6. Police Report and Neighbourhood Watch News Although the Police were unable to attend this meeting, they did forward a report. The report of recorded offences and a map where they took place was tabled at the meeting.

1. Roll Call and Apologies

Any Other Business

7a. Warwick Bar/British Waterways meeting

Warwick Bar have invited all residents to take part in a consultation with British Waterways,to take place at K4 Architects on 21st February at 14:00. Read more online. 

7b. Community First

After discussion at the meeting, it was decided that the area of Community First funding felloutside the remit for DRA. However, we would help support the establishment of aCommunity First panel by acting as an intermediary between the interested parties. Pam(Secretary) has been in touch with DRA group members and people within Birmingham CityCouncil who have expressed an interest in joining the panel.
